We never know when disaster will strike. The only way to survive is to be prepared.
Do you lie awake planning how you will save yourself and your loved ones if there was a fire, a riot, or a shutdown?
Where do you even start when trouble starts brewing and you can see doom on the horizon?
What can you do with a limited budget and resources?
The answers all lie within this practical and realistic guide to survival.
This is not about scaring you but giving you a clear way to reduce your anxiety about any sort of disaster situation, so you can rest easier at night.
A Prepper’s journey is long but consists of clearly defined stages, starting with acquiring basic knowledge, skills, and supplies, and ending in hard-core survivalism.
All these will take a lot of hard work and effort, but the most challenging part of this journey is the first one – getting started.
But with this detailed prepping handbook, you won’t have to scramble around worrying about what you’ve missed – they’re all in here. Inside, you will discover:
- A clear roadmap to everything you need to prepare for a disaster, including helpful prepping information and common prepping mistakes
- The 4 phases of the prepping process, and why you need to prepare for all of them
- The 5 laws of food storage, including how much to store and what you shouldn’t store for the medium- and long-term
- How to maintain your health and hygiene when running water is no longer available
- Simple ways to preserve food and liquids, from canning and freezing to dehydrating, so you won’t go hungry in a food shortage
- The four critical items you will need for long-term survival and how to make sure you have them ready
- The best ways to find and secure safe shelter, no matter where you are
- How to set up alternative power sources, sanitation, and freshwater supplies
- How to keep in communication with your loved ones and stay updated on essential news, even when lines are down
And much more.
While we cannot control the disasters that happen, there is so much we can do to ensure our safety and survival.
We can make informed and educated decisions. We can proactively reduce our fear and anxiety by minimizing risk and increasing our accountability for things within our control.
While we always hope for the best, we still need to prepare for the worst – because the worst is always possible.
Being a prepper doesn’t mean waiting for the world to end. It means being equipped – with inner resources and essential supplies – to handle what life throws at you.

One of my favorite points is the author acknowledges that prepping can be and is overwhelming and encourages taking one step at a time. There are footnotes throughout the book for further information and reflect how much research the author did.
Thank you for such writing this book.
Prepping is a thought process and it changes the way you think about buying items. This book walks you through the steps to get prepared and the dos and donts along the way.
I have been prepping for several years and after reading I even added a couple things to my own BOB. And I myself have always shied away from canning because of the disasters I have seen on FB; only storring canned and dry goods. However, the Canning section had such great detail for beginners I am going to try my hand at it.
