Keep fruits and vegetables last longer with the Fresh Fruit and Veggie Keeper from Progressive International, which helps them stay fresh for up to 2 weeks. The special design lets you wash and store all in one since the container doubles as a colander. A water reservoir in the base keeps produce moist, and adjustable venting regulates air circulation and moisture.
This smaller-sized produce saver fits perfectly in the refrigerator on the shelf or door yet still holds bunches of carrots, radishes, grapes, green beans, or cherries. It's also great for saving small amounts of salad greens. A printed produce storage guide can also be found on the front for easy reference. Cleanup is easy since the Fruit and Veggie Keeper is dishwasher safe. The lettuce keeper has a 1.9-quart (7-1/2-cup) capacity, and it measures 6 by 10 by 4-1/2 inches.
Ideal environment for fresh fruits and vegetables.
Produce storage guide printed.
Also great for salad greens.

Cut off the end of Romaine, turn romaine upside down and run water down through the lettuce, stand it up in the keeper to drain down through the colander. After draining, fit it in the container horizontal as best fits, put the lid on, open the vent, drain the bottom from excess water and - - - voila, you will have crisp lettuce for weeks.
I have been particularly impressed with this container when using it to store berries. I put blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries into it on a Saturday and a week later they were still fresh with NO MOLD. And that was with me opening the container every day to eat some.
This is a very sound investment and I highly recommend.
Also, I've had no issues with running it through the dishwasher.
However, I found it to be much too small for a full head of lettuce so I ordered the larger size (LKS-06) and it is perfect, and I can now use this one for carrots and other snacking veggies.
The reason I docked one star is because after 5 weeks the bottom cover has a crack in it which I attached a photo of. It's small now, but I suspect it will grow. And even at its current size it still leaks so I have to put a paper town underneath it. The larger one (LKS-06) as well as the smaller berry one (LKS-08) both have tabs on each side of the bottom cover that I bet are to avoid that problem.

I wasn't sure how often I'd use this but it hasn't gone empty for very long since I bought it. First a cucumber, then cherries, and now mushrooms. Read morePublished 4 days ago by J. M. Hardin
