If you mainly eat berries that come in small portions- blueberries, raspberries, etc: this will fit your needs nicely. There's a small lift-out insert if you want to keep things separated- nice touch. If you're looking to store strawberries, I doubt this would hold the contents of a standard green plastic "strawberry basket"- especially if you have some enormous berries in there. If you want strawberry storage, you'd be much happier with the larger Progressive Produce Keepers, which are roomier and probably multi-task a lot more than this does (at a similar price). Still it's cute, and it works! FYI- Whole berries last a lot longer in here than sliced- I have had strawberries in here for a week that still look perfect, but if they're sliced, you only have a day or so.
Keeps berries above any drained water, which tends to rot them and make them mold over quickly.
Great shape--oval, flat sides, tucks well into the fridge.
Adjustable opening to allow moisture to flow out of the bin
Surprise: Great for avocado and those half cut vegetables. I can put a cut half of avocado in the lower compartment and it is covered by the plastic drain layer above (where you'd put your berries.) It keeps the avocado reasonably fresh. Meanwhile, I store cherry tomatoes in the upper half. So for salad components, this is pretty nice--that is, for small amounts of salad fixings--a half a pepper, a few tomatoes, half this and that. Actually, surprised me how well this worked out for those bits of veg you can lose when you wrap them in plastic wrap and lose them in the back of the fridge. For that alone, I like this keeper a lot.
Very small. I was surprised. It is not much bigger than your hand (well, I have big hands, but still.)
Holds barely a pint of blueberries. Strawberries? Forget it.
Summary: Nice for expensive, tiny flats of raspberries, which do need TLC and cost a lot. They mold over so quickly and get squashed, this is a good investment if you buy fresh raspberries. Ok for blueberries, but I eat a lot of them and buy them a couple of pints at a time. Not big enough for strawberries. Either you need two or more or a different size keeper. Great for those half cut tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and avocados.
