About the Author
Raised around America’s Space Program, Alan Hoffler has earned degrees in aerospace engineering and applied mathematics. Midway into his twenty-five years of training technical corporate audiences, instructing in the college classroom, teaching public high school, and speaking nationally to pilots about flying safety, he became fascinated with presentation excellence—how to achieve it and how to teach it. He believes that communication has the power to change a person, an organization, a community, and the world. With a coach’s passion, a teacher’s heart, and an engineer’s mind, his writing reveals his desire to improve himself as well as his clients. When he’s not speaking or training, he stays active serving in the local chapter of his professional organization, supporting activities and instructing in his local church, coaching and speaking about youth sports, and dreaming about using his commercial pilot’s license. He is the co-author of 6 Steps Forward, a parable about the stages in a man’s life, and author of Presentation Sin, a collection of speaking tips he has learned as a speaker, observer, and speaking coach. His most challenging training endeavor is also his most enjoyable—raising two children with his wife Haley.

Is the book perfect? No, I have one gripe. The author organized the book in a way that makes "the look inside feature" not work well, the front matter of the book is loaded with several pages of positive reviews selected by the author, acknowledges, and dedication. The table of contents starts on location 97! I do not find reviews selected by the seller helpful at all when Amazon gives me a good way to see both critical and positive reviews. An editor should have recommend moving this information to the back matter where such information typically appears.

While this is a book for everyone because all of us communicate, it is an absolute must for those whose positions require group presentations.
