I read the bad reviews and was skeptical. I purchased two boxes for a Christmas Toy Drive. Very very disappointing, I would be embarrassed to donate these the quality is so poor. AND now I am being told that I cannot return them!!

They are wafer thin ( like those vanilla wafer cookies) and are made of pressboard. ( Pressman is the brand name)
I don’t have a stove or fireplace to burn them in and I live in Florida so it wouldn’t help anyway with heat for the winter (LOL)

I did email Amazon about not being able to return them so maybe there is hope.

Bottom line they aren’t worth a dollar at the dollar store.

Another cheap version of a classic game. Was hoping for a half way decent game but it is so cheap that the board won't even lay flat on the table. A cereal box has thicker cardboard than this and the pieces tend to slide since it won't lay flat. Some of the squares have scratches on them as if the checkers have been rubbed on them to scrap the coloring off.

Even the checkers are really cheap. one of them has a big defect that makes it look like someone bit a chunk off. Pay the extra and get a game that will last.

The actual game board is barely thicker than thick paper. Im not one to complain and write negative reviews. I purchased thinking it would be like the regular thick cardboard game board of my childhood. But they've gone cheap. This board is really flimsy and cheap and isn't even a great beginner set for children, in my opinion, because it won't last long. Not worth the price.

Contrary to the picture and description, this is not a Pressman game. The board is made from card stock, not cardboard. The box is essentially a shirt box for gift wrapping. Considering this a toy meant to be played with by children, the quality is horrible. The quality is about what you would expect from a happy meal toy.

I guess our expectations were a lot higher than they should have been. Saw the box and it was the same box as when we were kids except now it is so cheap. The board sits flat on the table so marbles will just roll off all the time. The board is made out of cardboard that is thinner than a cereal box and it is folded into quarters with a slit down half of it to fold better. This allows for the board to spread when trying to play allowing marbles to go all over the place.

Spend the extra money and get a better version, not even worth attempting on this one.

I was a little disappointed when these arrived today. I bought them for my daughter, who commented on how small they were. I am in total agreement. These are definitely NOT the "large" , solid hardwood dominoes that was advertised. They felt more plastic than anything, and were a lot smaller than expected. Listen to the reviews on this one folks. Not worth it. The paint job on these were terrible, and nothing like the original Dominoes that I grew up playing with.

A really fun game and with the large size of the tray cups we will be able to use regular poker chips. At first, we hesitated buying this particular brand of Michigan Rummy because of previous reviewers saying the tray was very flimsy, leading us to wonder if we should buy two games so we could double the thickness by nesting the trays together or else see if we could backfill a single tray with expanding foam to add structural support. Upon receiving the single game, however, we found the tray we were sent is actually fairly sturdy. We had no trouble at all playing a Michigan Rummy game with friends and expect the tray will probably hold up well enough on its own. We're very happy to have taken the chance, especially for the low price that was listed ($10 in September 2018.) The downside of the set we received is actually the small number of playing chips that are included, but now that we know the tray is large and sturdy enough we have already ordered a much larger number of regulation size poker chips to replace them.

This product was really cheap, and I was excited because I used to love checkers as a kid and I wanted to play with my own kids now. But the cheap price relates to a cheaply made product: a box that is as thin as a cereal box, some really lightweight insubstantial game pieces, and a board that's probably going to fall apart pretty soon. The problem is that, as I store this box with the other kid's toys and puzzles, it's going to eventually get smashed because it's so thin and cheaply made.
If you want to play checkers a couple of times and call it a day, I supposed this would be a good product for you. In retrospect I wish I had bought a more expensive checkers set that would be more durable and last for several years rather than one that I am highly likely to throw away within a few months of purchase. I probably should have been more careful when ordering the game, but honestly I couldn't pass up a bargain and the pictures looked just like the checkers box and game I used to play as a kid. It is not; it is a rinky dink version of that.
