Fry two different foods at once without intermingling. Large capacity up to 8 servings. Snap on cover lets you store oil in fryer. Removable divider for cooking large pieces of fish. Thermostat automatically keeps oil at the perfect frying temperature. 1500 watts 120 volts, 60 Hz only
In the homespun days, food was usually fried in a big cast-iron metal pot. But modern times demand simpler solutions. The Presto DualDaddy electric deep fryer fits on a countertop and is so easy to use. Just add oil, plug it in, and in 15 minutes it's heated up and ready to fry. Its sleek, elliptical black bucket shape matches form to function-- simple and classic.
The DualDaddy holds up to eight cups of oil or four pounds of shortening, and it can handle up to eight servings of food at a time, as well as being large enough to accommodate larger pieces of meat or fish. With the divider in, two kinds of food can be frying at the same time with no intermingling of flavors. The internal thermostat keeps the oil at the optimum frying temperature. An accompanying scoop, slotted for draining, is for lifting food in and out or for turning food halfway through the cooking time. The power cord has a magnetic safety connection, so that if the unit is jostled during cooking, the cord will disconnect, shutting power off immediately. After straining the used oil, it can be poured back into the unit and stored, covered by the accompanying snap-on plastic lid.
After frying, unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely before attempting to empty oil. Wash the DualDaddy with warm, sudsy water and dry it thoroughly; it is not immersible. To preserve the nonstick finish, inside and out, do not use steel wool or harsh, abrasive cleansers. The Presto DualDaddy measures 9 by 14 by 8-1/2 inches (including handles). Presto guarantees this product with a one-year limited warranty. A simple instruction and recipe sheet is enclosed. --Garland WithersSee all Product description

I used to filter the oil. what a mess. now I just take the used oil to the Bio Diesle guys after 5 or 6 fries. that's about all you get in reality. don't be cheap. wash the thing out and let it dry out prong side down for a couple of days I have done this numerous times with 0 problems. the machine itself is definately well worn looking with much patina from splatters. get one of those frying pan splatter guards. they work great at knocking the splattering coming out of the top. I still lay some newspaper underneath and around the area at a safe distance
amazingly enough, the well where the oil and the 48 oz marker line on the inside of the fryer are still pristine. how cool is that?
I actually use this for just 2 things
Beer battered Catfish Fillets and Chicken Thighs
the 1st thing i did was frisbie the divider as far as i could fling it along with the stupid spoon that comes with it
I have a old slotted spoon that works better and a Chinese spyder that i cut down the handle
they say when it's golden brown and floats to the top
I put em both in the oven on warm for a half hour to "Proof" just to make sure
both are safe at 160*
only 2 thighs at a time fit right in this thing in my experience
or one large catfish fillet cut in half at a time
you could do all of this 6 times or more in a party situation
you could have a damn good fish fry and fried chicken over the weekend with your pals
but i would dump the oil on monday
change the oil every 6 fries ($.50 a fry is pretty cheap)
and you will be likin' this thing
get a splatter guard
and don't put the rubber lid on till it cools off
don't ever walk away while doing this
that could be a real drag
a good tip is to let the chicken or fish get to room temp 1st
pretty much standard professional chef advice
look it up or watch food network for a while
I had a couple of those stainless household restaurant looking fryers big mess and many parts to deal with and not enough room for the food to roam
Tried it in my cast iron stock pot but wasn't able to save the oil before it wore out
for the occasional deep fry
i couldn't recommend anything better than this prestone dual daddy for 40$
with the the free frisbie that comes with it for you to fling immediately into a deep canyon
Easy to use
1 48oz bottle of oil that is pretty cheap at most super markets VEG or CANOLA (for 6 whole frys)
Peanut is great but is pricey
no olive oil
it can't take the heat
Crisco is the holy grail for deep frying
I love my Dual Daddy and I hope this helps
I've seen negative reviews over the size, it is advertised as a larger fryer so not sure what their thinking is on that. Great for a family or cooking for guests. You can even just put in less oil and use it for frying smaller batches for occasional use for one or two people if a deep depth isn't required.
The tools that come with it are plastic, not good for a fryer. Toss those and keep the fryer!
