Kendra, recently turned villain, is slowly coming to terms with what being a villain means. Chronos is realizing what her spontaneous actions have done to Kendra and while she has no intentions to help Kendra she realizes she may have to.
I would recommend this story to a teenage audience (though as an adult I found it very interesting as well!)

“I’ve killed villains before. Now I’m one of them. I’m going to be battling without a second life to shield me, and I’m going to be fighting those I used to revere. It begged a question she didn’t want to know the answer to. Does that make me a hypocrite, or just plain vulnerable?”
After Kendra became a villain and moved in with Chronos, poor Chronos has had little sleep and has wondered how to get rid of her. She just wants her quiet life back. It’s so disconcerting to her that she breaks her own rules and turns to her sister Rhea, who is her complete opposite in many ways. Rhea designs villains costumes, and since Kendra the Villian needs a costume,Chronos arrives at the shop and discovers her sister has a few things she’s never revealed before. Presenting Kendra with the costume, the two go looking for a villian’s lair… complete with….
Emily Martha Sorensen has presented a second installment of her Magical Mayhem series much to readers’ delight. Her descriptions and development of the story of Kendra and Chronos are wonderful and make the reader look forward to her next installment. Recommended.
Entertaining and funny quick read, with several facepalm moments, moments of utter disbelief, and moments when you don't know whether to laugh or cry. Kendra's twisted view of reality is absolutely amusing, and if she decided to get stuck with me as her teammate, I would probably go insane. I pitied Chronos most of the time. But all in one, I am truly curious how things will develop for these two unlikely allies.
I read an ARC of the story and voluntary provide my honest feedback.
To Prevent Chic Costumes is a quick and enjoyable read. It is jam-packed with humor that kept me entertained throughout. I appreciated Chronos' interactions with Rhea, the big sister- little sister dynamic made me smile. Also, the fact Kendra is more world-savvy than Chronos had me shaking my head. Overall, good read. Looking forward to reading To Prevent Clear Paths.
This is the second book in the Magical Mayhem series, and is a wonderful romp. There are many multilayered jokes throughout the books, and it makes them fun for both adults and children. A wonderful storyline and great cjharacters work well.
