Breast cancer that is prevented doesn't need to be cured. Cures are expensive, prevention is free. We now know how to prevent most breast cancer! Recently deceased John Gofman, M.D., Ph.D., author of "Preventing Breast Cancer" is one of the premier scientists of all time with medical and scientific credentials that fill five pages.
Gofman states in his latest book based on new research that "Between 83 percent and 90 percent of all breast cancer can be attributed to medical radiation (X-rays) as a co-factor. An Executive Summary of the new book (an epic 699 page 1999 study based on separate data) is available free on-line. To find it, Google: "radiation from medical procedures"
Gofman is the author of many books and more than a hundred articles in scientific peer-review journals. He would not accept a royalty or commission of any kind for his books about preventing cancer. This selfless humanitarian has done more to save lives (present and future) than anyone since Semmelweis and Lister. Gofman's research will be a very "bitter pill" for modern medicine to swallow. Without it, healing of the health care system cannot occur. Many will discount Gofman's research without reading it. Most doctors will concede that X-rays are harmful but challenge Gofman's numbers. Some would rather their patients not know about X-rays causing cancer. Others will continue to ignorantly repeat the "safe-dose" claim or say off the top of their heads that, "you are exposed to more harmful radiation when you ride in an airplane."
Though The World has always crucified it's saviors, the day will come when no one will question Gofman's research (the same as no one today questions the connection between cigarettes and cancer). Gofman was such a thorough, meticulous scientist that it judges those who find fault with him, not Gofman. The combination of Gofman's 699 page study and his book "Preventing Breast Cancer" constitutes one of the two most important cancer discoveries of the last century (the other being the Cigarette/Cancer Connection). We cannot hope to win the war against cancer without recognizing the major cause of breast cancer which Gofman so eloquently presents. "Preventing Breast Cancer" is a must for everyone concerned with the disease. If you can't find it, the entire book, all 49
