I also think that I liked the heroine, Reese, more than I liked Mason. Which is strange, but it was such a great change of pace to have a strong willed kick ass women who knows what she wants and isn't afraid of others opinions or thoughts!
Reese may only be 18, but she's already had to change her name and move away from the only home and dreams she's ever had. All because she has a crazy psycho ex-boyfriend who tried to kill her. So, Reese up and moves. Starts college in a new town and moves into the apartment above her aunt and uncles garage. Reese is a strong heroine. She plans to make something of herself and tries hard not to let her crazy past get in her way.
Her first day of school she catches the eye of who she considers the hottest guy she's ever seen. Mason Lowe. He notices her too, but in his line of work it's best not to be caught with "non-paying" women.
See Mason is a gigolo. He hates his lifestyle, but felt like he was forced into it when he turned 18. He had a "Mrs. Robinson" type next door neighbor who also happened to be his landlord. His mom was way behind on her rent and his neighbor agreed to squash that debt, if Mason paid her in the sexual form. He felt like he had no choice, so he did what he had to do to make sure he, his mom, and his sister with a disability, weren't kicked out onto the streets. Thus began his career as a gigolo.
Everyone in the town thinks they know about Mason, but nobody really knows for sure, until Reese. She gets a job as a babysitter and when she shows up for her first day she realizes it's Mason's sister she'll be watching. From their her friendship with Mason starts.
Reese knows what Mason is and what she does, but she also believes he is just doing what he thinks he needs to in order to keep his family in their home and food on the table.
Their friendship becomes one of trust and understanding, but also so much more. They have chemistry that they both know is there, but they also know with Mason being in the line of work he is that it will never work. Or will it? Eventually Mason realizes that he isn't meant to be a gigolo forever and decides that Reese is worth getting out of the business.
Others beg to differ though...
Read this book to see how Mason and Reese get through the drama that surrounds their relationship--jealous older women, crazy stalker boyfriends, and one spoilt over dramatic cousin.
