This "novel" (quotation marks needed) is nothing more than Jane Austen's original masterpiece with modernized language and perhaps 5% of vampire myth added. Vampires added nothing of consequence to the story. Darcy, Bingley, and Wickham's motivations were not altered in the least. Even Elizabeth and Jane's reactions were blase. The only real alteration was Georgiana, making her even more of an obligation to Darcy than in the original. Perhaps the best part of the book was in making Miss Bingley a vampire and the Hursts her donors. But even that is glossed over.

Truly, if you have ever read Pride and Prejudice, imagine a few of the characters as vampires and that's the story. I wasted several hours reading it, in hopes that it would be better... but to no avail.

I have read the other two vampire/Pride and Prejudice variations: Mr. Darcy, Vampyre and Vampire Darcy's Desire. Both of those were amazing compared to this one. And... I did not particularly like those either.

This book was written almost word for word from Jane Auste's book. Every so often the writer threw in a vampire statement but for all intents and purposes it was an exact copy of Jane's P&P. Sorry I didn't particularly like the book. I wanted some orignality by the author. For the JA purists this book could up your alley as a mash up. I just didn't particularly care for it.
