While pursuing a healthier diet, I thought I was going to have to give up my mayonnaise. This primal kitchen stuff is on point. I mean it taste good and not a bunch of preservatives in it. It’s a little on the Steve side pricewise but I guess if you want to be healthy, you need to be wealthy.

We have been doing Keto for sometime but I was still using my regular well known brand of mayo for a few dishes. Since I used it so seldom ( maybe a couple tablespoons total in a 3 month period), I told myself it was ok. Well, realistically I knew the first ingredient in my well known brand is soybean oil, so I knew even a tiny amount of that was something I did not want to be consuming. Plus I am sure some other ingredients that were in it as well. As such, I started my quest for a ready made mayo that I knew would have only healthy fats. There are no shortages of recepis on You Tube for Keto mayo, and I have actually made one or two. They are quite tasty, the only negative was once made, you can only store them for about one week. I wanted something that would last at least a month. Enter Primal Kitchen mayo made with avacado oil. I was skeptical as nothing has ever compared to my regular (unhealthy) brand in taste or consistency, but I went for it. I was pleasantly surprised. It is every bit as creamy, and thick. It also last quite a while. I don't recall how long the jar say's to keep it, but I have had this jar for possibly 2 months now and it is still very tasty and fresh. My only negative is that for me the avacado oil makes it a tad "heavy" in taste. I like avacado oil and use it in other things, but I think I may like this mayo better if it were made with olive oil. All in all, this was more of a test for me I guess. I discovered there is a good / healthy product I can buy, along with the fact it has a decent shelf life. Both worth finding out. I suspect for the amount I actually use ( for the occassional egg salad, or tuna salad, making my own is the best way to go. It's just nice to know a product exists if I need it.

I purchased this duo because it was less expensive per ounce than their competitors and thought the chipolte lime flavor might be delicious. Maybe I just don't like chipotle, but the mayo had a smokey aftertaste that reminds me of burnt rubber.

I decided to give primal Kitchen Paleo Approved Mayonaise another try. I just couldn't accept that this company was knowing distributing a rancid product And I was right.

I reached out to the company and told them my experience. I gave them the expiration information etc. off the jar.

And they confirmed it was not expired. But rather Paleo has a stronger taste different from conventional mayonaise. Slightly more vinegar like. So I tried it again with an open mind. I also tried their spicy version.

This time it was much better. But what really flipped my review was using it In my recipes, like chicken schnitzel. It was amazing. The chicken tasted dicilous but was still very moist and tender. Instead of dipping in eggs and bread crumbs, I coated the chicken with Primal Kitchen mayo, then costed in bread crumbs. I also lightly salted; instead of deep frying, in pan seared the coated chicken in a very small amount of oil and freshly dried Rosemary herbs.

I should tell you I'm a bitvif a home chef. And I tryvtobused only the best ingredients. I'm alwsys looking for new wholesome healthy nongmo ingredients; and so I was over the moon how simple and how delicious this turned out. Now This is a keeper in my kitchen from now on.

And thank you to J. at Primal for hearing my concern as a customer and assuring if the products high quality and the surprise gift.

You all got it right.

I would just say to other folks who also didn't originally like the taste, well I learned too that it does not taste like the those commercial brands. So if that is your point of reference, try it again with a clean slate.

Sry. Have to agree. The taste is off and awful. It looked normal. And was about to make tuna salad when gave it a taste. Almost ruined the whole thing. Can't eat this. I think it's old and expired.

There were good reviews apparently about a year or so ago. Now, not so much!!! Would give zero stars. Eck.

And am sad about it!!!

The creamy texture is just like regular mayonnaise. But I really dislike the flavor. I taste rosemary and vinegar which is ok but there's another flavor that comes through that is unpalatable to me. Not sure what it is.
