ARC. given for an honest review.
Overall the book was nice, though confusing at times. I though it was a standalone so I'm hoping more things are brought to light in further installments.
I really liked the concept of the creation of shifters rather than them being a natural existence, it's not the first time I have seen these kind of storyline, especifically linked to the army, but it still was refreshing to see the different portrayals of this transformations as abominations to humankind that are a necessary evil used as tools for murder. There were lots of holes in the story which I hope are addressed in the next books, especially looking forward to more insight regarding the Project and the male lead former companions.
This story doesn't have a cliffhanger, but it has a rushed ending (way too rushed and a little confusing) that set the stage for the storyline of the next book.
I will be reading the next books to see more about the story and the characters as well as the future of the protagonists
