If you plan to be an Anesthetist, skip this book.
If you are irritated when people call Demerol "pethidine" and use it for all procedures, then again, be warned you might dislike this book.
But if you think you might need anesthesia skills, and you aren't going to be in a first world ER/OR etc, then this is a phenomenal training text and reference. After reading it I felt able to provide anesthesia under most circumstances (even if the only thing I had available was pethidine!) It explains the whys and the hows, and it gives a solid foundation on functional skills that other books usually avoid.
