I very much enjoyed this story. It didn't feel confusing to me at all, the world building was beautiful and vibrant, the characters had great depth, enough that I truly hope the author writes stories for them as well.
I don't like long separations between the H & h, and felt that there didn't need to be 10 years of separation. I also felt that some of the little sub-plots of the story were just left hanging, like the h's youngest brother was a very prominent part of the story right after their father was mortally wounded, but then just seemed to disappear from the story - and that happened to several characters that were vividly introduced to the story, set up to seem to need a closure of some sort, and then they were just dropped from the story, or things happened that weren't explained and left you going, ummm....
I have read that the 2nd book in the series is from a time period before the first book and the characters have nothing to do with the characters in the first book. I am not sure why the author wrote the series in this way, but I am sincerely hoping that she does include books for some of the people in the first book, specifically Zee's brothers, her best friend Meridia, Shale and other close characters. The author gave alot of weight to some of the side characters in this book, leaving you wanting to read their HEA.

Well written, flows smoothly, and interesting world building. Marks off for overly extensive world building clearly designed to start a whole series, and for lackluster resolution between the H and h. Lots of talk of him groveling, but pages and pages of introspection and descriptive prose flesh out a timeline that's actually pretty short and involves the H apologizing but not much else before the h just falls back in with him. Uses the awful, hated trope of the H being a man whore the whole time they were separated but the h was still a virgin, bit then didn't follow with any juicy angst or anger at the H. She got more mad at the OW (plural) than him.

Over all it was an intrigue story with a little romance. The main story of the book (which wasn't romance) the mystery, was so uninteresting that I stopped reading after the conflict resolution between H and h. Annoying how many authors these days so obviously want to write quantity over quality and churn out storied with more care taken in the secondary characters' spinoff appeal than actual romance or storyline.

I really liked the beginning! It was so angsty. You could feel how messed up Zee was from the rejection even after 10 years and you could n feel the horror Niko felt at finding out he was wrong. It was a HUGE miss that we didn’t get a flashback of the actual rejection. After Niko took Zee back home they just eventually were back together without working through anything. The whole plot with the Greybacks(?) and the human killers was just too convoluted and messy so I skimmed the rest of the book.

OK, so it wasn't horrible.... but it wasn't great either. The premise was awesome, but the overall delivery was a bit confusing. There were aspects of the story that I really liked, but sometimes there was too much info dump in really strange places and sometimes I just felt completely lost. A lot of the story fell flat which was disappointing because it had a strong setup. The book needs a good editor to help the author polish and hone their ideas. I think this is a gem in the rough, but it needs a lot of work. I would definitely give this author another shot. With more practice and a professional editor, they definitely have potential.

Delightfully suprised by this paranormal romance. There are wolves, fae, magic, betrayal and passion.

Did I want more grovelling definitely but luckily the author presented events/actions in a way that did not have me cursing a bluestreak.

Plenty of secondary characters in this that I hope to see booms that come.

Looking forward to reading more in this series/by the author.

Zee is fab and wish I had gotten to see more of her awesomeness. I hope we get books where her brothers take center stage.

Author is excellent! there’s just a side of me that felt she caved too quickly, she has her own fierce story and prime needed to develop too. This could be an amazing trilogy as Zee is far more interesting that Niko. Authors strength could have seen Zee grow into her twin (wolf and Fae/nightdweller) heritage. All brushed over to be honest. This could have been a brilliant heroine series but it caved to an ignorant anti hero. He did wrong, he gets all killer, shes the rational one. I feel ripped off that she just takes a back seat, maybe she’s the platform for ‘stronger’ stories in future regarding her siblings. Lost opportunity, i would have read ten books about her development and him never being good enough lol
