Review
Far from a conventional biography, this book by journalist, broadcaster and jazz expert Brian Morton is a scholarly critique of Prince's music in the context of the American canon (Big Issue)
Offers up a fascinating album-by-album analysis of how Prince's revolutionary melding of white rock and black funk and soul has had a profound impact on modern music (Metro) --This text refers to the paperback edition.

It's not riddled with inaccuracies and if you've read every Prince biog going, as I have, you'll find several of his interpretations of Prince's output and character refreshingly original.
I enjoyed this biog. It's not a bad book, it's a decent one, although I would suggest to the novices that it's a book to turn to once you're familiar with the details of Prince's life.
