The author (Leigh) has the makings of a fun brand here, with the additional products on the way, to potentially become a new version of 'The Rules.' She has a good thing here. -Writer's Digest

This book is fantastic. I had read it twice now, first to get a 'feel' of the book and second time so I could complete all the exercises and really spend time thinking about myself and all the ways I manage to sell myself short!! I agree with the other reviewers, that some may find the title a bit offputting, but I think in a way that what it's all about..to examine the ingrained habits we tend to have (women as well as men) as far as how we want to see ourselves, and how we are all 'supposed' to behave. I sincerely wish I had read this book when I was younger, as I think the biggest hurdle in most people's lives is the lack of faith in yourself and your ability to do whatever you want to do - it certainly was in my life, anyway!

**One point here was that I also really admired about the way the author presented the section on achieving your goals...it certainly isn't one of those books that tells you 'you can do absolutely anything, if you just put your mind to it, so what's stopping you, loser?' etc etc which has always struck me as unrealistic and ultimately quite unhelpful. Instead, she asks the reader to sit and really reflect on their goals, but also realistically think about their abilities, and how they will reach their target. I found this very positive, as it means you are discarding all those imposed 'you can't do that' behaviour patterns that we all grow up with, but also gives you a realistic pathway to your dreams. Which makes them feel as though they are in arm's reach! It was wonderful.

I ma and not to much a of an avid reader but it was quite the eye opening view into the inner realms of "Woman", fascinating, riveting and just plain to the point of being empowered and revitalizing your inner self.

There are very few books that ever get a 5 star rating from me. But it isn't easy to get a 4 star review out of me either. The reason I read this book is because I was asked to and it was given to me. Because of this I felt it only fair to the author, that under those circumstances, its the least I could do. Returning kindness with kindness (read the book).

So, this book was charmingly good and it earned every one of its four stars. Props to the author for her recommendations about how to be a better version of yourself. The title is deceiving and perhaps she may lose some fan base because of its misleading implications. But I would recommend that you take the time and the money and give this book a go. Its really about personal responsibility, ownership and self respect. Its a good book to have around when you start to forget that 'yes, you are in fact worth it.'

I look forward to her second book. I wish the author much success.

Regardless of whether you think Nicci Leigh's book, Princess Bitch: The Sassy Guide to Relationships, Power, and Success, has a disadvantageous title, regardless of whether you think it merits consideration as a "serious" feminist text, you will have to admit that it presents important insight into contemporary women's psychology. Leigh's approach to solving problems arising from deeply rooted gender inequity is progressive and sensible. Her tone is colloquial and refreshingly free of the seemingly ubiquitary sarcasm and rodomontade of popular feminism. Princess Bitch implicitly challenges women to examine and reject culturally inculcated rules and norms, i.e., The Golden Rule, that harm them when applied to their detriment. Leigh, a successful beauty and wellness entrepreneur, also challenges women to embrace and define feminine beauty and its immanent power for themselves. Glossy-lipped and high-heeled, Leigh's Princess Bitch is pragmatic and powerful. She is in control of her personal and professional destinies too. Her days as a princess are numbered. It is only a matter of time before she is a sovereign queen.

Princess Bitch: The Sassy Guide to Relationships, Power, and Success (Leigh, 2012) is a guide for women to become more empowered in their personal lives, relationships, and careers.

Leigh offers advice from her career in the field of health and wellness. Having spent the majority of her career working with women of all walks of life, Leigh is able to bring a vibrant and real voice to the concerns of women who want something, or rather, everything! Princess Bitch touches on some principles of wellness found in many psychological and wellness approaches, but does so in a way that eliminates the need for a dictionary or psychiatrist, speaking honestly to women.

Something that is so interesting about this book is the way it takes terms that often seem derogatory toward women (hello, the title is Princess Bitch!) and uses these words as forms of empowerment for women. Although written in a familiar tone, the use of normally pejorative terminology invites women to consider these words, and others, in the context of feminism and society as they relate to the acquisition and use of power. Princess Bitch does not ask women to give up their generous nature in favor of an axe-wielding one, but instead reminds women that they are an important part of their own lives. Yes, very often, women forget that they are important in their own lives! Princess Bitch simply reminds women that, to be who we want to be, we must first be good to ourselves. Not a bad lesson, and other important lessons for women follow this one in the book.
