good book to refresh your finance knowledge. the book isn't too technical or wordy, it's short and to the punch. But which there was more examples with step by step solutions. Warning however, this isn't a self teaching book I would say more for those who have had finance classes.

This is a terrible finance book if you are a beginner. I had to take this class for a Major that is not even in my field. I have zero background in this finance. Honestly I spent most of my time googleing concepts and other examples. The questions/problems at the end of the chapter do not following the examples explained in the chapter. Overall I think Gitman did an awful job explaining many concepts. I gave up reading the chapters and went to a few good finance websites to learn the covered chapters. Gitman loves to just through a bunch of useless vocabulary words out there and fails to truly explain concepts. I'm sure this would be a great book if you already had a solid background. Honestly, I would not pay for this book! It's a way over priced door stop and emergency toilet paper for me. PS it makes me sick that Lawrence J. Gitman stole my money by writing such as God awful book!

I am using this book in my certificate program class in finance and have found the book quite understandable. A lot of finance books get too much into the theory but this book is quite good at keeping it short and to the point without a lot of the random "finance" jargon. If you are exploring a career in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), this is a pretty good book.

Solid text overall, I am finding that the explanations for some of the more complicated issues are not thoroughly explained as much as they should be. Keeping in mind that this text does cover a huge area of the subject of finance, additional outside information should be utilized in order to fully take advantage of the subject matter.

It was an easy read and the mathematical equations were explained and discussed in a simplistic way.
