Okay, so i really wanted color pencils for Christmas and so i told me parental units i want colored pencils thats all my dad then responded wtf do you want me to do get you a 6 pack of crayola?....to that i responded nevermind....i bought them myself and i put his name on the card. if you wanna be really super cool youll get these colored pencils, they work beautifully! there are 4 trays of colors an it comes with 2 chalk sticks, those are like crayons but in a cube form its used for backgrounds and shading i have been told. so its pretty sweet but i would highly recommend also getting the prismacolor pencil sharpener on here it costs like 4$ish so really cheep an the blade the pencils come wiff can be switched into it i have been told. it works really well, but if you use the sharpener alone that it comes wiff you can split the pencil in half, very very very nice pencils you dont wanna do that, its a definite no-no. ;) but these are so worth the extra money getting more colors, so pretty and a beautiful array of colours! The pencils are great, and the tin is great, but they have discontinued the boxes that double as a pencil stand. That is too bad. Yes, this tin protects the pencils, but I wish they could have retained the display/stand function that the box provided.

This is a great set of pencils. Coloring is a hobby of mine. I've been looking for pencils that were rich in color and didn't leave those white spaces we all know about. The tin is a bonus and a nice way to store the set. There are so many colors to chose from that it adds to the fun of picking up the coloring book. The sharpener included in the tin sharpens the pencils just enough so you don't waste that much of the pencil in those electric sharpeners. Great gift for an artist or someone who likes to color for fun like myself. It's worth the extra money! As soon as you hit that purchase button, you will be checking the mailbox everyday for your order.

I found that the "lead" inside these pencils to be broken. I sharpened only to have the "lead" fall out, again and again...it is so frustrating to buy something so expensive and have it be crap! I am not alone on this, I only wish I would have read reviews both good and bad before making such a purchase. I would recommend Faber-Castell, they are sturdy and the colors are beautiful, I also find Sanford to make a lovely color pencil. Hope this helps in your decision.

Prismacolor products are always consistently good and these colored pencils are no exception. There is a huge array of color choices and the creamy texture makes rendering any art project an easy task. Purchase a color blending pencil and your color combinations become endless. I was only introduced to the world of colored pencils about 6 months ago (started an interior design program) and tried out more inexpensive brands but have not achieved nearly the results that I have with Prismacolors. Cheaper brands are great for projects done just for fun but for a professional look I highly recommend these.

My set came pre-sharpened, but included a sharpener. These colored pencils work great, but a few of them cannot be sharpened, such as color 901 (indigo blue). It kept breaking off in the hand sharpener, tried other pencils and they sharpened fine, even changed the blade in the sharpener (K.U.M. from germany). Overall a great bargain. Just will have to run out to Hobby Lobby for more indigo blue pencils. Same thing happened with indigo blue on my 72 color set as well

I bought these prismacolor pencils as a Christmas gift for my 15-year old artistic daughter. She absolutely loves the range of colors and the effect that these pencils give. We do have one problem, though - one pencil is defective. PC1020 celadon green came without a color lead/filler - in other words, it came empty. I am going to report this defect which my daughter only discovered a few days ago. Other than that, this has been a fantastic purchase.
