Everything hinted at in the first book becomes more clear and visible and the tension amps up as our protagonists learn what has been going on in the wider world during the previous 10 months.
The book has mystery, action, drama, a bit of romance, and it will make you stop and think about things that you always have taken for granted.
I would recommend this book along with its companion to anyone ages 13 and up if you want a book that you won't be able to put down until you've devoured it from cover to cover.
She keeps the text rolling smoothly. I enjoy the ease of the transitions and the discourse between the main characters. There isn't too much filler or dead space.
Now to the details. I really enjoyed the relationship between the two main characters, and even more enjoyed seeing how they have blossomed since the first book. It was heartwarming to see them transition to adulthood, and to see them grow emotionally. I like how important the author has made the sense of community and how community will either make or break someone. I think she is leading to a great story line as she talks about the procreation after the flare, as well as what the world will be like for those who are smart and ablebodied.
Again, great job! I cannot wait for #3!
Note to the author, please do not stop at this series. I would love to see you continue to write, you are truly blessed with a great skill.
The story is done very well without any flaws. The story is exciting and very quickly becomes a page-turner!
It is quite obvious that this author is a tremendous story teller and takes great pride in the incredible amount of work that the author, no doubt, put into it.
I happened onto this series while skimming Amazon. I'm glad I did! I have found another new favorite author that has the story, skill, ingenuity and ability to tell a great story that crosses many genres! I recommend this book for everyone and the story is not only great but actually teaches the reader New and probably never thought of situations.
To the author; thank you for sharing your skills!
Mia and Andrew are getting closer, and a bit more physical, but they are still controlling themselves. There are moments of levity to offset the overall grave nature of the story. More characters appear and are developed well and Mia and Andrew both come into their own despite their youth.
I'm well into book 3 at this point and will probably review it in a couple of days. It is already moving the several plots ahead, as well as adding some new twists.
