Day one of using this appliance, in the first 12 hours it removed 1 1/2 cups of water from the air. I measured this precisely, to the last ounce. Turned it off overnight for safety concerns and then back on continusly since then. It has removed at least 3/4 cup of water daily in the 5 days of use. I also want to mention that we don't have an exhaust fan in the bathroom to remove the hot moist air from showering, and we have a 20 gallon aquarium which also adds moisture to the air.
The indoor temperature is usually low to mid 70's and with this unit it doesn't have that muggy feeling that was present before. Now, I also want to state that I didn't have the residence shut up as tight as a drum. On cooler nights I open the windows and use 2 fans to exchange the air indoors. This I do on nights I don't work and the amount of moisture collected the next day is about 1/4 more than the days that don't have ventilation. So, I am guilty of letting moisture in, but I want the cooler nighttime air for comfort reasons. A fair trade, and a win, win for me with this unit.
Breathing is better than before. It doesn't feel as warm and stuffy, and the mold/mildew hasn't the conditions it needs to survive.
I also want to state that the box claims that this is for 2200ft 3. If I'm not mistaking, the 3 designates cubic feet, not square feet. Our living area is approximately 2200 square, so, I'm no doubt over the recommended area.
So, if you ask if the price is worth it, and would I purchase this again. Your darn tooting I would with no second thoughts.
This part is concerning some of the reviews about the unit being wet under the reservoir when they empty it. Expect this if you just turned it off. The machine is still doing its job till it cools off. It will drop until it cools off. Compare it to turning the water off on your garden hose and then squeezing the trigger. You know what's gonna happen. Just wipe the inside of the housing dry and quit gripping about it.
Next, in an update I will address the difficulty some seem to be having of removing the drain plug. Is it necessary for the operation? Stay tuned.
I will continually update this review as to the performance of this unit as well as the longevity of it.
And in case your wondering, no I am not affiliated with this company, get no kickback for this review. And, rest assured, 5 stars can just as easily become 1 star if the product warrants it!
Update: 7/18/17 - Yesterday the 17th, I removed the drain plug from the tank and let the unit run overnight without it. In the morning I had collected approximately 1/2 cup of water. So as far as I can tell, the drain plug has no bearing on the operation of this machine. Not sure if it may affect the shut-off feature when the tank is full as I haven't tested that yet, but plan to very soon.
Update 9/04/17. Using a paper towel helps in the removal of the drain plug. Just get it under your thumb and the edge of the plug, and it should pop out fairly easily. Any material of your choosing will work just as well. If your still having problems with it, just remove it altogether. I haven't seen any adverse problems relating to its being installed.
OK, so I've had this little machine for about 4 months now. Still working like a champ. I only turn it off to empty the tank each day, and that is just two or three minutes. The collection of the moisture has dropped mainly from lower humidity here in PA, as well as, less available for it to get from the environment. I still collect about 1 1/2 cups daily on average, so its still doing its job spectacularly. I plan on keeping this machine running continually over the fall/winter, and unless I have any problems, this will be the last update for it. I feel I've already gotten my monies worth from it over the summer months.
Way to go, little guy!!! You are definitely worth the money & I will be recommending you to my friends :)
Here's what I like about it:
1. It's quieter than my tabletop and pedestal fans.
2. It's super cute and if you look at it from the top, it looks like it's smiling at you.
3. It's inexpensive and it works.
My only issue with it is there isn't any way to take the top off the water tank to clean it. The best I can do is run some hot water in it, add a bit of soap, swish, and rinse.
Here's some advice on how to get the most out of it:
1. Don't run it constantly, run it when you need it the most. I run mine at night since the humidity really bothers me when I'm trying to sleep, then I turn it off and empty the tank in the morning.
2. Don't place it in an area that attracts a lot of dust and hair. Doing this will greatly decrease its efficiency. I place mine on the floor because I vacuum at least once a week, usually twice a week. I dust it every week and use an air can on it every two weeks.
3. It seems to work best when the temperature is at least 68 F.
4. It's not meant for large rooms. If you're planning on buying it for a room that's bigger than 250 sq ft, you will be disappointed so just buy something bigger.
It works well enough for me and I'm totally not disappointed by it. It's inexpensive for the quality you get and it has improved the humidity in my efficiency apartment enough that I can sleep comfortably at night.

Using this to get humidity down in a grow tent. My RH was 54 at night and 44 during day.
This dehumidifier barely made a dent in the RH. Running almost two days straight and has pulled maybe half a cup of water into the holding tank.
After putting up my initial review...I was considering the room in which I'm using the dehumidifier. I'm thinking there is too much air exchange going on in the room for the dehumidifier to have enough contact time with the air.
Also...after putting up my review...someone from the company reached out and offered to make it right. That is some excellent customer service.
However, I will be keeping this one because im pretty sure it is the application that I'm using it for that is the issue.
Either the seller is shipping faulty machines, or the company has very poor quality control. Either way, shame on them.
