Take command of your favorite Wii U games with the Pro Commander, a Pro Controller alternative featuring traditional analog stick placement from Nyko Technologies. The Pro Commander wirelessly connects to the Wii U and works with any game compatible with the Nintendo Pro Controller. The analog stick layout of the Pro Commander is akin to other popular controllers, putting the action face buttons right under the thumb while also incorporating fully depressible trigger buttons. Featuring a built-in rechargeable battery, and ergonomic design, the Pro Commander is ideal for marathon gaming sessions. The Pro Commander recharges easily through the included USB cable, and can be charged during gameplay for unlimited playtime.

I've been burned in the past by buying third party stuff. I had a controller for my Gamecube which actually caused the system to shut itself down if you plugged it in. Because of this, I wasn't expecting much from these, but all three controllers actually work great and feel nice in my hands. If money were no issue, I'd still go with the official controller, but you can definitely take a risk on one of these in a pinch. Nyko does seem to have a pretty up to date customer help system online if anything did go wrong. I checked out their website just to make sure.
One thing to be wary of: the controllers didn't sync up properly until they had a good charge in them. If you plug them in and try to sync them right out of the box, there might be some issues. Give them 10-20 minutes to charge if you have an issue with syncing.
The controller itself is rather small. My hands aren't some type of huge gorilla hands where they totally engulf the controller. This controller is just tiny. The matte finish on the surface is very nice compared to the Wii U Pro Controller and does not leave finger prints which is a plus. The L and R shoulder buttons feel subpar. Left side doesn't feel crisp, actually it feels spongy, the right on the other hand feels normal. The ZL and ZR triggers feel like they should be Analog, but they're not. It would've been nice if it were analog. It would be perfect for racing games. The face bottons ABXY are horrible. They are all spongy, and need to be fully pressed to register because of their sponginess. The Wii U Pro controller has a much better feel all around. Buttons are excellent, the fit is excellent, the function is as you would expect from a official Nintendo product. The only complaint about the Wii U Pro controller is that it's a finger print magnet. The thumb sticks on the Nyko are much higher than the Pro controller which would benefit those who like FPS games and are a dimple style so thumbs won't so easily slip off during game play.
Function: As with many other reviewers, this product would not hold a charge. I've tried the included USB Cable with no results. I've tried other USB Cables I've had around with no results. I've tried charging it from the Wii U, computer, and wall outlet and still no results. When plugged in, it works. It functions as a normal controller but dies the moment it is unplugged.
Conclusion: I would not recommend this to other players. If you're looking for a controller to use as a replacement Gamecube controller, buy the Hori Gamecube controller for Wii U instead. The Nyko commander is just very poorly made and not worth the frustration. They say "First impressions are the most important" Well Nyko you did leave an impression, and until I see otherwise in reviews. I'm not touching another product.
