Backlit buttons are easy to see in the dark. View larger. Intuitive, Inspired Control Layout
In designing the Pro Elite Wireless Controller, POWER A has taken what's best about other controllers--like the Xbox 360 controller--and recombined these features to give a competitive edge to PS3 users. The Pro Elite Wireless positions its analog sticks asymmetrically, with left analog stick up and the right analog stick down. This design helps prevent cramping during extended gaming sessions and is especially ideal for first-person shooters. The R2 buttons have also been repositioned for greater accessibility while gaming. Additionally, all of the buttons are backlit, so you'll still be able to game in the dark.
Ergonomic, Natural Design
Ergonomically designed, the Pro Elite Wireless provides optimal comfort for all hand sizes. Its textured rubber grips are soft and breathable, so your gaming won't be ruined by sweaty palms. The palm handles have been expanded to provide a more generous area for gripping the controller. And with its gently contoured edges, the Pro Elite Wireless helps alleviate pressure on your hands to ensure comfort.
Precise SIXAXIS Motion Control
Not only is the Pro Elite Wireless comfortable and intuitive, it's also compatible with SIXAXIS games. Using a fine-tuned accelerometer and gyroscope, the Pro Elite Wireless can sense your movements and translate them into the game. This gives you more direct, lifelike control over the events in your game. To get the most out of SIXAXIS-heavy games like Warhawk and Heavenly Sword, you'll need the Pro Elite Wireless Controller.
Rumble Feedback for Immersive Gameplay
Fully supporting rumble feedback, the Pro Elite Wireless uses two vibrating motors on either side of the controller to create a rumbling sensation at certain moments during the game. This makes yaour gaming experience even more immersive, as you're able to feel every gunshot and explosion in visceral detail.
The Pro Elite Wireless Controller is backed by a two-year warranty. Visit POWER A's website for details.

Let me start out by saying that if you're one of the crazy people with baby hands out there who loves the Dual Shock 3, steer clear of this controller and stop reading this review. If you're like me, however, and you like to use a controller that doesn't add a barrier between you and the video games you love so much, continue on.
I'll go on record and say that the Xbox 360 controller is the best controller ever designed by man (minus the horrific D-pad). It fits perfectly in the hands, all controls are within reach, triggers function flawlessly, etc. After a minute or two, you forget you're holding a controller and it stays that way until you put it down. The Dual Shock 3 controller is possibly the worst designed controller on this planet. I've heard people say that the N64 controller deserves that award, but I never owned an N64, so can't confirm or deny that. The Dual Shock 3's thumbsticks are awkwardly placed and seem to be coated with Teflon. The triggers are worthless (which explains why all games use L1 and R1 for shooting related duties). The controller itself is entirely too small, unless you have baby hands. Constant adjustment is required to attempt to keep it comfortable, although it's ultimately futile. Fingers are bunched up in the back due to lack of room. Pushing the L and R buttons requires super-dexterity if controlling the thumbsticks. I could go on and on. Suffice it to say, the person that designed the DS3 should probably be whipped with 1,000 USB cables.
Along comes the Pro Elite Wireless Controller for PS3. They've essentially tried to copy the design of the 360 controller, although not quite to a T. Overall the controller feels pretty good in your hands. The matte black finish is nice. The build quality seems good. The left thumbstick is where it should be, off to the side. The face buttons have a nice backlight that can be turned on or off, a nice little touch. The triggers are infinitely better than on the DS3. Unfortunately, most games force you to use R1 to shoot and don't give an option to change that. It's pretty annoying having decent triggers at your disposal, and having no choice but to use the buttons above them to fire a gun. I wish Power A would have taken this into consideration and perhaps put switches on the controller allowing you to swap the 1s and 2s.
The Pro Elite is definitely a win and a huge step up from the DS3, but it's not without flaws. I'm not a huge fan of the grip where your palms rest, but you get used to it. The placement of the right thumbstick is a little farther inside than it probably should be, making it a bit of a reach if you have smaller hands. The controller requires a dongle connected to the console, which seems silly, but maybe it's the only way to do it without Sony's blessing. This prevents you from turning the system on with the controller. It's a little bit on the light side. Some heft would make it feel a bit more solid, but that's a preference thing. Lastly, my biggest gripe is with the thumbsticks. The dead zones are a bit larger than they should be. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's definitely noticeable.
In closing, if you like games and hate the DS3, based on my research it looks like this is probably the best you can get, short of building Ben Heck's PS360 controller (or better yet, paying him to do it). Some slight modifications on the design, fixing the dead zone issues and making it Bluetooth and this controller would be a perfect 10. As of right now, though, it's only about an 8. Which is still good, but not perfect.
Setup was simple but, not extremely simple. I followed the directions to sync the controller but, for whatever reason it didn't sync until I reset the controller and restarted my PS3 - something not in the directions that I had to guess at. It has synced flawlessly every time since then and syncs noticeably quicker than the 360 and even quicker than the original Sony controllers. The lit ring is not as well done as the 360 as the light easily bleeds into the other ring quadrants. My controller buttons randomly light up or not (the ring is always on). They'll either light up the whole time I'm playing or not light up the whole time during a sync. Not sure why but, it has not affected gameplay. I've seen a few reviews complaining of lag and I do not notice any lag difference between this controller, the original PS3 or the Xbox 360 controllers (I've played MW3 with all of them). The controller works very much like the PS3 or Xbox 360 controllers in terms of gameplay performance.
In terms of drawbacks, I inquired with Power A about a couple of things that turned out to be disappointing. I like to have multiple controllers on stand-by (for friends, as backups, etc.). So, I inquired to ask if I need to have a separate USB sync controller installed for each controller I want to use. You do. So, you'll only be able to have as many controllers as available slots that you have on the PS3. In my case, I can only have two controllers. Second, they do not make a charging stand for their controllers. So, the only way to charge them is to use a USB slot and cable (doesn't have to be on the PS3) to charge them. I don't know of any other charging stand that is sold that would work with these controllers.
Despite these limitations, I'm far happier using this controller than the PS3 controller. The PS3 controller has too much play in the thumb sticks compared to this controller and the 360 controller. The PS3 controller also pulls your thumbs apart far more than the 360 or Power A controller and is also too small if you have large hands. It just doesn't feel as good in the hand as the 360 controller and the Power A controller. I would recommend this controller - based on two weeks and around 20+ hours of gameplay. Still feels as solid as day one - and it should for another year. Hope it holds up.

Do not buy this controller you will only feel ripped off after 2 minutes of playing time.
the charging is nice but it is annoying that you cant turn on the system with the controoler form afare as you can with other ps3 controller.
i would recommend this controller if you are use to 360 as due to the button placement you will feal right at home.
i would say the price it the best non offical I've bought and i will prob buy a second
It worked fine on most games I played except Fifa when I was selecting my lineup. It skipped past players when highlighting down.
Works with PC also, I have used on a few PC games too and is fine.
You do however need to download an emulator like motionjoy but just look at a youtube video to sort that out, its so easy.
The controller works as a 360 one, and works amazingly with Steams big picture and normal modes.
It's my favourite controller, the grips are great and I don't find myself sweating with it.
It's shaped like a 360 controller, works on the PC and PS3.
Also, wireless is great, I havn't tested the distance on the controller to the adapter, but it reaches across a room with ease, no lag or disconnection.
Seriously, I dont understand why people rage about this controller when they are talking about games such as FPS, the sensitivity for a game is set in the GAMES SETTINGS. It's not the controller, the sensitivity is the same for ALL controllers until changed in the Game - Control settings for every game.
5/5 Easily.
