Where Legends Are Made' encapsulates the return of PES, with new features, modes and an unparalleled gameplay experience. This year's edition bring the biggest changes to the award winning series seen in a decade, which will set a new standard for soccer games, and raise expectations for the future of the franchise. No part of PES 2018 has been left untouched, giving you new ways to play with a number of gameplay improvements, Online Co-op, Random Selection Match, and a complete presentation overhaul with lifelike player models, new menus and real player images. The world renowned gameplay quality has been finely tuned and refined to recreate the authenticity of the beautiful game, including a more realistic game speed. Strategic Dribbling gives the user significantly more control in possession, with the addition of contextual shielding to protect the ball, as well as simple stick controls triggering realistic, subtle movements to wrong foot defenders. Real Touch+ adds a new dimension to ball control, with full body touch allowing various parts of the body to control the ball based on the unpredictability of the ball movement. Set pieces have been reworked with a new FK and PK system, alongside the option to choose the new one player kick off. Realistic visuals recreate the authenticity of football, all the way down to the finer details thanks to Real Capture. Players have been motion captured in equally realistic environments, allowing for a complete rework of the animation system, starting with core movement such as walking, turning and body posture. Additionally, player models have been completely changed, with special attention paid to kit fitting and short size. Players photo scanned from partner teams will receive full body tattoos, including Marco Reus, Pierre-Emeric , Philippe Coutinho and Neymar Jr.

I have been a long term WE fan (winning eleven was the name) since my college age. But since the 2010 (maybe 2009?), sadly the FIFA has taken it's lead by far. PES has been drawing back on the game flow and display, online gamings, as well as the official licenses on team, etc. I played EA FIFA series since the France WC in 98 as well in the beginning of 21st century. And when I first got to play the WE, I was blown away by it's graphic, it's physics, and the "real feel" of playing football. I gave up FIFA for 10 years until I picked it back up in 2012, where I felt "wow" on its physics. It was really close to PES, maybe better. And since then I see the PES and FIFA went apart further and further away. Although I've been disappointed by PES, I still buy it every year with FIFA to compare, or to worship my WE dream. And FINALLY! They made it right this time. Although the goal keeper seems to be slow reacting, the AI wasn't active enough on some cases (eg. shooting inside the box after corner), but the physics is back right on. Good job KONAMI. And I like the way that you have full control for your player unlike FIFA. And your players is more grounded, and the touch of ball differs every time if your timing, force is different. FIFA felt like the player is a magnet that "absorbed" the ball to their feet. And the long shot on PES is still harder than FIFA. If you play a lot of online games like me, you will see many awesome fake long goals on fifa.
I haven't tried the online portion of this yet. I only played a few exhibition games and that new "similar" feel made me has to comeback and write the review. I need to try the goal keeper game on the new PES again. I remembered that from WE8 and above, there was a view angle that was awesome for playing goalie. But then it was removed. New angle was hard to see and not as goalie friendly as the FIFA's camera angle.
The lack of license didn't really bother me if this is really a better game. You can download after market Edit files online.
1 star for improved passing, moves, shots, physics, etc
2nd star for tactics, strategy, etc
3rd star for adequate behavior while loosing or winning
4th star for multiple ways of scoring, no goal looks the same
5th for customisation, create player option is again awsome. Small efforts and you have the player which looks just like you, bunch of personalisation. Not like fifa 18, where all created players look the same. You can spend hours of customising your created player's face in fifa 18, but the final result is the same everytime. Team of 18 year old clones all looking just the same, all you can do just to make different haircuts, skin color and height just to feel some difference.
You would ask why not 4 stars? There are no licenses, funny names to world class teams.
It is not konami's fault, but ea mafia!
My Verdict- Buy
