Product Description
The first Debut turntable, introduced in the late 1990s, was a revolution for the hi-fi industry. For the first time after the arrival of Compact Disc and the assumed demise of vinyl records, an analog product re-emerged in the "mass market" - something all music lovers could afford. The new Debut Carbon DC Record Player has been designed to set new standards in this category for the coming decade - perfectly timed as analogue today is again a respected source, while the demand for good turntables is growing again! The most obvious improvement is the inclusion of a carbon tube for the tonearm, which increases stiffness and decreases unwanted resonance. This material normally is extensively used in high-end tonearms, but - because of cost reasons - was never used in products at lower price levels. Together with other improvements like an increase in platter size and weight to realize even smoother rotation, the overall sound quality is greatly improved. The approved belt drive design offers low noise AC motor with effective motor decoupling (utilising TPE-damping) and ultra precision frequency DC-driven AC generator (like Speed Box) for ultimate speed stability without unwanted vibration.

Nevertheless, I am 47 years old and I have lots of records from 70’s and 80’s… So within these years I needed a new record player instead of my old Marantz player..Then I have chosen one of the latest models of Pro-Ject.
It is well made for sure, but Anti-Skating adjustment is terrible; you cannot manage it even though with an adjustment LP….The Company itself is saying that they produce “high-end” players but I think they do not …except good furniture what only they do as given. The real quality is Ortofon stylus for me that they use for in their players.
At last… If you don’t have any records from your past…I kindly advise you… that YOU SHOULD NOT INVOLVE with those expensive things like LP business….Digital is better than Analog…..as always…
One, the internal phono preamp isn't defeatable. I understand it is USB and is meant to be used with systems that don't have a phono preamp, but for $500 this should have been included.
Second, why would they downgrade the cartridge? The USB interface and phono preamp did NOT add $100 to the cost of this unit to begin with, and they put a lesser cartridge in it anyway. There's no excuse for doing that. I feel like I got screwed on this one (I had ordered the non-USB version but was sent this one [not from Amazon] or I would have researched it and found out before hand that it is a ripoff).
I'll be sending mine back to where I got it.
