Maximize your workout with the ProForm 6.0 ZE elliptical trainer the oversized pedals and built-in programs.
Enjoy a challenging cardio workout without leaving the home with the ProForm 6.0 ZE elliptical trainer. The 6.0 ZE starts with a blue-tinted LCD window that tracks your time, resistance, calories burned, and more. As a result, it's easy to monitor your workout progress. The trainer's 12 built-in workouts, meanwhile, take the guesswork out of your routine by automatically adjusting the resistance for increased intensity. Simply choose between aerobic, weight loss, or performance categories and you'll be on your way to success. And to ensure comfort and stability, the trainer is equipped with an 18-inch stride length and oversized, slip-resistant pedals.
Other features include an iPod-compatible music port, an integrated workout fan, 10 levels of digital resistance, a bottle holder, and a 250-pound weight capacity.
When most people hear the name ProForm, they automatically think of treadmills. That's because in its early days ProForm revolutionized the treadmill industry with its now-world-famous SpaceSaver foldaway design. ProForm continues its tradition of quality and innovation today, with cutting-edge advances in cushioning, electronics, and reliability. Fortunately, ProForm wasn't satisfied with treadmills, unveiling a complete line of exercise bikes, elliptical machines, weight benches, and more--all geared to providing the most effective workout available.

Display has the basics you need; we just changed the 4 D batteries for first time (we don't use the built-in fan often, which isn't very powerful); also like not having cord that needs to be plugged into an outlet, which makes it easier for us to move anywhere in room.
We're all about cardio, keeping our hearts in good shape and living a healthy lifestyle with young family, as well as staying active during the winter when it can be difficult or time-constrained to get out for exercise.
Very pleased, great product.
Assembly: not too bad, considering I hate assembling things. I did it alone, moving the parts from the packing case to the machine's location one by one. Several steps really do call for a helper, but you don't need help for most of the assembly steps. I had problems with a couple of cosmetic plastic pieces (which I just tossed after hitting my frustration threshold) and one major fitting that I still think doesn't fit just right, but the machine works fine. I had three big bolts left over which made me think I must have left out something important, but I backtracked carefully and found nothing wrong. Kept the bolts anyway. It's not a particularly lengthy or tedious build; you can see progress pretty quickly and consistently. Plan on 4 hours and congratulate yourself if you get it done in 3.
One reviewer said to tighten, tighten, tighten those bolts and use plenty of grease where indicated so I took his advice and my machine is absolutely silent except for the occasional beeping of the display panel. Do what the man says!
Others have pointed out that the fan is wimpy (true) and that the non-backlit display is hard to read in normal room light (also true). I keep a table fan and a small TV on a stand in front of the machine and so far I haven't paid much attention to the display. The bottle holder is perfect for my TV remote and a small flashlight if I eventually get interested in the display.
I have to agree with others who are miffed that an AC adapter for the display panel isn't included. I'm using alkaline D cell batteries for now and may or may not look for a suitable AC adapter later. It does seem a little cheesy to leave out such a trivial component and then to charge an absurd sum for it as an add-on. Chinese power bricks are pretty inexpensive commodities these days so from one perspective, it's no huge deal if I have to buy one. From another perspective, it makes ProForm look silly and cheap. This would be a five star review if this pettiness hadn't been so in-my-face.
I'm finding that it's taking some time to acclimate myself to the machine so my workouts so far are pretty dainty vs. what this machine can do. I recall it taking me a while to acclimate myself to the treadmill, though. As with everything, if you do a little each day you'll be kicking it before you know it. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase.
Another -1 star for the fan not turning off. For some reason the control circuit is funky now and the fan is permanently on even after a work out and it should auto-shutoff. My work-around? I purchased 4AA battery holder and rigged a switch to it so I can manually switch on/off the machine without having to screw/unscrew the battery housing. I also figured out that the machine does not need to be on to have the correct resistance, so the only time I turn on the batteries is to change the resistance. I actually enjoy it this way since I didn't need to purchase an adaptor, and I have an easy on/off switch!
