I have had this crate for 3 days and I believe my dog has met her match! She has not even tried to get out of this crate. In her old crate she immediately learned how to open it. She broke the clips off of it that we thought would keep her in. Zip ties worked, until she learned that she could chew them off. Finally, she learned how to open the basement door and come upstairs. We figured she deserved to be out of her crate, and this worked for awhile, but she started to become destructive. So we finally purchased this crate. I cant believe how comfortable she is in this crate. She loves it, and gets in the crate even when we are at home. I think she likes the stability of the crate, she feels comfortable in it, and secure. I purchased the medium crate for my shepherd/husky mix. She is 40 pounds.
Imperfections on first crate:
My first crate came with some imperfections. Two bars were bent and the screws for the bottom of the cage did not line up (see photos). I contacted customer service and they sent me a replacement crate within 24 hours. I put together the second crate and it is PERFECT except the tray has similar dents to the first one, but I do not mind this because it does not effect the crate. Even with the imperfections, my dog could not get out of the crate. Since I had excellent customer service, and the second crate is perfect, this is a 5 star crate. Even with the imperfections, I would rate this crate 5 stars.
I would recommend this crate to anyone with a dog. I think this crate will last me a life time and I am so happy we have peace of mind again!
Buy yourself a lock. My second crate, the latches slide really easy. Dog was out of the crate.
Set up was super easy. Instruction font is super tiny - so glasses may be needed to read the instructions..or the pictures of the instructions.
Shipping was great. On time. No damage. We are hopeful that this is the last cage we will be buying for a while. We've had it about a week now. No escapes to date.
The wheels are a great touch for moving it around fairly easily, and the pan turns out to be convenient for catching dirt and shed fur. The only downside of the design is the bottom bars don't look terribly comfortable, so I have paired the crates with nice, but thin, pads that cover the bottom. So far, the one dog seems to have settled down in her new crate, and has not attempted to escape (I've watched via webcam). This makes me feel like the high cost was worthwhile, as I sometimes need to crate the dogs, but I don't want them hurting themselves.
