About this item
- Make sure this fits by entering your model number.
- ACCURATE: More sensors = More accuracy. The ProSensor M150 has 9 sensors and 15 Enhanced Precision LEDs. Conventional stud finders have 1 or 2 sensors. With more sensors, Franklin Sensors stud finders are the market’s most precise and best stud finders. The M150 has a max detection depth of 1.5". The enhanced precision LEDs track the exact location of studs while displaying the center and edges simultaneously.
- EASY: One mode finds it all! It finds wood beams metal studs, pipes, live electrical wires, and the M150 stud finder auto-selects the most accurate mode for changes in material or depth. No toggling between standard-scan and deep-scan. Also, no calibration is required. Just press and hold the button to begin your scan. Additionally, you can start over a stud, unlike other stud sensors that give false readings. It is undoubtedly the most intuitive stud finder on the market.
- SHOWS THE CENTER AND EDGES OF STUDS SIMULTANEOUSLY: The M150 saves you time by showing you more of what is behind the wall. It displays the center and edges of studs simultaneously, shows double studs and irregular configurations found in older homes that other stud finders cannot detect.
- DURABLE: Designed for all users from homeowners to DIY enthusiasts to professionals, the M150 stud finder is accurate and durable. It saves you time while still being tough enough to withstand being dropped off a ladder or tossed into a toolbox.
- EXTRA FEATURES: Live Electrical Warning

Product Description
With a Franklin Sensors stud finder, you have the fastest, easiest, most correct stud finder on the market. To operate the M150, simply press and hold the button then place it on the wall and go. There is no calibration procedure. You can instantly find studs. Once you have it on the wall, the LEDs show you right where the stud is. The M150 has an Enhanced Precision LED display. With 15 LEDs the M150 more precisely identifies studs. When you move the unit back and forth, the M150 continues to track the location of the stud which makes it easy to instantly see the edges and the middle of the stud. As well as this, it can also find two studs at once. Franklin Sensors stud finders are the most accurate stud finders because they have more sensors. Other stud finders typically have only 1 or 2 sensors. The M150 has 9. With Franklin Sensors’ patented technology, you can find stud positions with unbeatable accuracy. The M150 may also identify live wires. The M150 also features live electrical detection to make it the perfect tool for many projects ranging from hanging and leveling pictures to installing cabinets and flat screen TVs. Once you try the M150, Franklin Sensors stud finders will quickly become your favorite. Franklin Sensors stud finders are proudly made in the USA.

Note- our house is built in 1936, so we have some lathe and plaster walls and some with many coats of paint and / or wallpaper. It doesn't seem to matter with this finder. I've tried it on many walls in the house. This is worth the money. Oh, and it runs on 2 AAA batteries- so you just pop n go.
I bought myself this one, then my dad came over and used it, so I ended up having to buy him one of his own for Christmas bc he wouldn't shut up about and borrowing mine!
Accuracy is pretty good, but if the wall is not flat you can be off by at least an 1/8th inch for the edges of a stud. I ran into this issue on a cinder block wall with furring strips behind drywall. Splitting the difference is enough to work around this though.
I didn't really use the electricity detection feature, but it went off enough where there shouldn't be any lines run that I'm not sure my unit isn't faulty. Or my house is a death trap, not really sure what's more likely.
All in all, I'm happy with it. 5/5
confident on stud location every time. other sensors give a different location every time... requiring re-measuring, and finding same stud over and over... never confident in where it really is.
Franklin system is the best by far.... love it.

As a stud finder it worked well, showing the width and edges of the stud with reasonable accuracy - about 3-5mm out at most. This made it easy to determine the centre of the stud. Both timber and metal worked well. Sometimes you get a false signal briefly but just pause and they usually go away then you can move the unit again.
My unit did not detect live electric wires however. I tested where I knew there was mains in 2.5mm and 6mm twin and Earth runs. The electricity LEDs never lit up unfortunately despite there being 240V AC present.
I did note it was able to detect electricity in open air, i.e. if I placed the unit near a cable without plasterboard between so it seems it was not sensitive enough. There are no calibration controls so this is a problem if you need this function and a safety concern, at least with my unit.

The Franklin does all of that through a row of LEDs, I wish I could show a video. You can see the width of the stud as a row of lit up LEDs along the length of the device, and if there's mains electricity, then the electricity lights light up to warn you.
What would I like to see? Depth, and perhaps the depth of the plaster/ drywall. But you can't have everything (at least I don't think anyone has done that?).
Absolutely brilliant, and although it's expensive, it's cheaper than buying 4 ordinary ones that end up not doing the job as I've done before this.

In my experience, it's surprisingly accurate, and the way it shows studs is very useful and practical.
My only negative is that it only shows presence of cables behind its entire length and not in the same way it shows studs, but I can live with that. On the plus side, contrary to other stud finders that require the power to be on to detect cables, this works even when the switch is off.
