Top customer reviews
There's no balloon whisk attachment for getting lots of air into egg whites but I've still managed to make decent souffles with it, and I would never even attempt a heavy dough with this. For the stuff I do use it for though (souffles, custards, creme brulee, and so on), it's not especially fast, not especially powerful, but it does the job well enough (and everything else I can do in my food processor anyway).
Everyone should be realistic. Even $50 to $90 mixers on here have less than stellar reviews. This is for someone on a limited budget or who uses only very occasionally. Anyone who rates it poorly on performance for things like cookie dough or mashed potatoes is totally unrealistic in their expectations of what $15 can buy you nowadays.
1. Bat out of hell
2-5: Do you want to go there?
Recommended for the price...but I have had to get creative with it splashing everywhere. Great is the blades/whisks can be submerged more than halfway with whatever you are mixing...anything less than that and you might be wearing what you are making.
when making choc. chip cookies, this shoots the chips all over. my dogs love standing under me when i get this out. they know im gonna shoot food around.
but since i dont have to exhaust myself stirring, i do like it. i learned to be careful when mixing...as much as possible. still, food is gonna fly so be ready.
duck and cover!
A couple of things I'd like to mention for your consideration:
1) The low speed is still kinda fast. The top speed really whizzes.
2) The beaters easily eject if you're not careful when changing speeds
Over the past 4 years this beater has not failed me one time and I have been happy with it's performance.
This is definitely not the mixer for you if you use it very often because it doesn't seem like it can handle heavy use. I used it to make a single batch of peanut butter cookies and the motor strained heavily on every speed. Yes, peanut butter cookie dough is thick, but it really struggled.
Love the size, but unfortunately, I feel that this motor is destined to self destruct.
