As a Senior Product Manager here's my detailed review:
The book contains SIX modules I found some useful information in:
MODULE 1 : SKIP except the Product Master Plan MODULE 2 : Quotation " Well-developed strategies also focus on competitve advantages" MODULE 3 : Product Positioning Statement Template The marketing plan for the product MODULE 4 : SKIP MODULE 5 : Professionalizing Product Management MODULE 6 : The Product Manager's toolbox (Excellent templates)
Final opinion 1. Good Story for Product Management from Idea to Divest 2. The book is superficial and doesn't contain any down to earth cases and examples (lacks marketing language and concepts - e.g. Nothing about BCG matrix - Brand equity - Designing competitve strategies etc....) 3. I will use about 100 pages from it as a Desk Reference 4. I noticed that the book is categorized as a management book which is right although the Product Manager's main role is to use Marketing experience to manage products !!
Bottom Line - Disappointing as a reference
