Convenient and unobtrusive, the FT-1 multi-function clip-on tuner helps ensure your instrument is always in tune, even on a dark stage. Its handles noisy environments with ease thanks to its built-in vibration sensor. The LCD display’s easy-to-read needle indicates how close to pitch a note is, and the screen's backlight turns green once the note is in tune. The FT-1’s dual-hinge design allows you to mount the tuner on either side of your instrument's headstock.

Easy to Use - the tuner is very easy to use and that’s coming from a beginner like me. You pretty much just clip it on top of your instrument. Then you can strum whatever cord you want…you want to continue until the arrow goes to the centre of the display (it’ll turn green).
Small and Compact - the device isn’t that big at all which is a good thing. I keep it in my guitar bag so I can use it whenever I need a quick tuning.
Great Display - the display on the tuner is very easy to see. Once you’re in tune, the whole thing will glow green so you can’t miss it. The LCD is also bright enough so that you can use it even if the lights are turned off.
Adjustable angle - you can adjust the angle of the tuner once you’ve clipped it on so that you can see the display better
Battery Compartment - to open up the battery compartment, you have to use a tiny screwdriver that they don’t provide you with. The screws are also super tiny so be careful not to drop them when you’re opening it up.
Battery Life - i’m a little concerned about the battery life as the tuner doesn’t turn off by itself once you’re done using it so it can drain. I try to remind myself to turn it off each time but i do forget sometimes
And stupid me, I kept thinking I would try again to fiddle with it, etc. Then business travel got in the way, and now the window to return it is closed. So I'm stuck with a tuner that won't turn on. Can anyone recommend a more reliable unit, comparably priced?
Good thing these two are only holding my $150 Jackson dinky and $175 Ibanez bass.
For my ESP LTD and Xaviere XV-950 Hollowbody I have two heavy duty monster stands that have seen 15+ years of stage use without falling apart.
A decent buy for the beginner or a cheapy guitar but please don't put a guitar on these you really care about.

This Fender unit is perfect.
Small yet crystal clear even in dark areas and more importantly very accurate - even more so than my inbuilt tuner on electro acoustic.
This works with both my Telecaster and electro acoustic on the headstock - highly recommended (well it is from Fender after all!!!)
I used to perform many (so, so many) years ago and this would have been a real boon then as it works even in a noisy environment. These days I am dusting off instruments I haven't really played for years, bit of nostalgia creeping in, but it helps a lot if you can keep the nostalgia in tune.
The tuner is tiny, but the screen is easily big enough to be seen, showing the note being played and whether it is sharp, indicator to the right, or flat, to the left and a steady green screen when the note is perfect.
It is inexpensive, seems well made, is tiny enough to fit in any instrument case, and, checked against phone tuners, microphone tuner and by ear on a keyboard, is accurate. It is also from a well known guitar manufacturer which instils a certain degree of confidence. All in all highly recommended.
