Tonor Professional Condenser Sound Podcast Studio Microphone For PC Laptop Computer

NOTE FOR APPLE USERS:
This mic will NOT work on your...
- Macbook Pro
- iPhone
- iPod Touch
- iPad
- Portable field recorders (tested on a Tascam DR05 as an external mic).

If you're wondering "so where WOULD I use this?", I use this in my Canon DSLR camera (70D model, but it'll work on your T2i, T3i, T4i, etc), and I record with it to capture interviews.

This mic also works in most PCs as an external mic. (e.g. for podcasting)

Pros:
✅ Cheap: Very well priced on Amazon.
✅ Tough cable, bright red so people will see it and not trip over it. (nice touch I think with the color)
✅ Wind: Surprisingly good actually. I thought I'd hear a lot more popping later when I watched the video.
✅ Easy plug-in: Plugs into your 8mm headphone-style jack.
✅ Decently priced here on Amazon.
✅ Little tripod actually works surprisingly well. Again I wasn't expecting much for the price.
✅ Nice folks at Tonor. They actually sent me this mic to test and review.

Cons:
🍅 Doesn't work on a lot of products (e.g. Apple products). Sorry Mac users, but I hope this review saves you some time.

Note regarding power: This does NOT have a battery in it. ("self-powered")

Summary: Compared to a $100 microphone, there's no comparison (more expensive = better sound, generally). However for the price, this mic was remarkable. Awesome for the prosumer videographer.

I was looking for a good voice over mic for my YouTube videos and I had NO idea where to start. I decided on this mic. It came faster than I thought it would so they have awesome shipping! A lot of my friends got really expensive mics and could not figure out how to work the mics. This mic was as easy as plugging it into my laptop! Nothing else was needed and I absolutely LOVED how easy it was to use with no complications! There are no background noises while your recording and the voice comes out clear and crisp. I am so glad that I picked to get this mic it has made things so much easier!

I noticed many reviews with quotes like, "I hope I get my money's worth", and " Sound quality not that great". Folks...you bought a condenser microphone for eleven dollars. If you expected studio quality, you should be committed.

That being said, I purchased this microphone for one purpose; to pick-up my voice for speech recognition and VoiceAttack from anywhere in the room. I knew that it wasn't going to have the greatest sound, and have loved it because it does exactly what I need it to. I run a Z97 Gaming 7 mobo and Win 8.1 Pro. The microphone plugged into the Mic In port on the back of the board and was recognized without a hitch. After making it the default recording device and making a few adjustments to the levels I've that it clearly picks up my voice at normal speaking volume with no problems whatsoever. My VoiceAttack loves it apparently because it has never worked so well when it comes to recognizing phrases and commands, even from about 15ft away.

In summation, I'm sure that with a bit of fine tuning this mic would work for recording with OBS, YouTube dubs, and various voice chat applications. It certainly works well for the price and I highly recommend it to someone who just needs a mic to pick up voice commands or light voice chat, and it deserves 5 stars for its function compared to the price. If you're looking for studio quality, you should already know this, but you're looking the wrong place.

This is the first microphone I have used. It comes with a single pin plug and play mic, a foam cover and a stand. Initially I thought it was very light weight and wasn't sure what to expect. Upon listening to the play back of my video I was very impressed. See video review. I received this for review, however it does not effect my thoughts or opinions.
