Its real gaffers tape

This is gaffers tape. Typically used for taping electrical cords to the floor so people dont trip. Also for movie or play “sets” for wrapping and hiding cords, covering or blacking out something. It is meant to be removable and not leave a sticky residue. I read some reviews in which people complained about it not being sticky enough or that they couldnt make a bra out of it?? Whatever that is about? Its not meant to be that sticky. Its sturdy, somewhat like duct tape tape but doesnt leave sticky adhesive on surface when removed. This is a good quality tape and works well for it’s intended purpose.

I use a good amount of gaff tape so to save money I have tried the cheaper brands and I keep coming back to this Real USA Pro Gaff tape.

It’s strong tape and the adhesive is not weak like some other and née as it should be and doesn’t leave behind any residue either.

I think the quality of the tape and the fact it does what it should, and doesn’t what it should not; it’s good tape for money if you use a lot as I do!

So if you're like, most people who travel, retrieving your luggage is a pain in the a**. You go to the carousel. And 9 out of 10 bags look exactly like yours. There's always some hillbilly pushing people out of the way grabbing the wrong suitcase etc. So I decided to buy some gaffers tape because it's designed to adhere to a surface with a strong bond yet is easily removed and causes no damage to the surface. I put big purple exes on my suitcase (s) now I'm literally the first person out of the baggage claim had. I absolutely know it's my luggage. Cheap fix, and about a million uses for this tape... I chose it obnoxiously bright color just so I could see it.

I found out about gaffer's tape while working at a music festival. I had heard of it before but never used it. On look and feel, it's basically duct tape. The real magic is that it's (usually) easy to remove and leaves little to no residue. It's also a bit thicker and heavy. This tape did leave a little residue in a couple of application, but was better than duct tape.

I could have taken more time to lay the tape neater, but it works for temporary use to keep my cats from chewing the wire. I'll start by saying I know this tape is typically used to secure wires and such for photography, theatre and film. I bought this tape with the intention of using it on skin to make a tape bra as it was highly recommended for this purpose. Not sure if I got a bad batch or if it's this specific brand but it is completely useless. The adhesive is SO weak and doesn't stick to anything. I could not imagine using this tape professionally. It's as if the adhesive completely dried up. I rated it 2 stars because the material itself is strong and the colour (nude) is a perfect skin tone but what's tape without a strong adhesive? Needless to say, very disappointing.

Gaffer tape is a must have. You can tear a piece off easily, it can be removed and reattached, and there is no sticky residue like with masking tape or duct tape. There's a reason its called Gaffer Tape, as professional film technicians use it on every set. Don't be put off by the price, it's worth every penny. As an example, I needed to tape down a wire in my car that ran to my dash cam. I tried electrical tape and masking tape, both failed within a day and the cables came loose, leaving behind a melted, sticky mess. With Gaffer Tape, it held the wire in place in heat and cold and has yet to come off.

This is my first purchase of gaffer tape, so I can't compare this brand with others. But I can say that this product has amazed me. I bought it originally to place a marker at the top of our stairs, for safety. The flooring and the stairs are both the same laminate, and it was easy to miss the first step. It has been on the floor now for more than 2 weeks, and although we have walked over it many times, it continues to adhere to the floor with no peeling at all.

Then I used it to stick a temporary notice to the front door of our church. It stuck there in the wind just fine, and when I removed it later not only did the tape lift off the door as clean as a whistle, it peeled off the paper just as well. It was just ordinary copy paper, but it was just as pristine after I removed the tape as it was before.

Then the sliding door in our shower wouldn't stay closed. It slowly drifted open during a shower. The track on which the rollers ran was sloping slightly. I took a piece of the tape and wrapped it around the track. That was enough to stop the drift, but the door slides over it easily when we open or close it in the normal way. It will require replacement after a while, but it will be easy to remove the old piece, leaving no residue, and replace it as required.

Already, I am wondering how I ever managed without this amazing stuff. So glad I found it!

1st February 2022 - UPDATE! OK so the tape I used to mark the top of my stairs (see above) held wonderfully. But today it was looking a bit grungy and I decided it was time to renew it. I was a bit apprehensive. My friend who is an engineer at a radio station told me gaffer tape is great, but if you leave it in place too long, it won't come off cleanly. So it has been there 4 months, and we have been walking on it several times a day. How will it perform?

The video tells the story. At first the tape pulled off perfectly - for about the first 18 inches. After that some residue was left. (It took a lot of effort to pull it off the laminate flooring, yet the tape didn't tear.) Then, I found that all I had to do to remove the residue was to press the tape that had come off well against the remaining residue. I had wondered if I would have to use a solvent to do the job, but no!

The second picture shows the laminate after all the tape was removed, and it is absolutely pristine. No need at all to clean off any remaining residue. Wow again!

Absolutely must have product. It sticks exceptionally well while remaining easy to remove. Can be used for everything from covering wires on your floor, to taping boxes shut, to covering damage on black furniture.

The only thing to watch out for is the sticky residue that may be left behind on items you've kept taped down for prolonged periods of time. It can be difficult to remove and rubbing alcohol doesn't do much to help - I'm certain there's some product you can use to make this a painless process, but I haven't had the need to find it yet.

It does what it's intended to do, but a word of warning. If it sticks to itself you'll struggle to get it off of its adhesive. When it comes to sticking to wires and not leaving anything behind it's excellent and I used it to route Ethernet cables across some walls to keep them off the floor. This Gaffer tape worked out great for that use. Humidity did seem to interfere with its operation and so this could be a concern in its use long term. Just something to be aware of.
