Fumbling at pockets and down tube-mounted water bottle cages during the middle leg of a 140. 6 mile event can cost precious seconds and energy when every bit of drag dodged and every watt expended count. Profile Design's FC35 Drink System handles storage, hydration, and even head unit issues with an aerodynamic solution that doesn't force you to break form in order to fish for gels or bottles. The FC35 System mounts between your aero bars, keeping your energy and hydration articles front and center at all times. The generously sized water reservoir's straw can be switched to a fore or aft position, depending on the particulars of your aero bar reach and stack, and the splash-back guard means you can refill it quickly without breaking pace from bottles mounted on your cage or under your saddle. The rear compartment of the FC35 System provides catch-all space for anything from trail mix to gels, and the flexible bands criss-crossing the opening help organize and secure your calories while the provided head unit mount means you'll be in complete control when it comes to monitoring those calories as they convert into watts.

Next issue: I have cables on my converted Tri-Bike in front of the low bar that gets in the way of placing the tank. It takes a lot of maneuvering to get it in place so it fits snugly against my handlebars and leave room for my hands to grip the aerobars. Ok, the cabling is my problem but it getting it to fit doesn't end there. The rubber band system that holds the tank in place leaves very little room to maneuver your fingers to attach the tank to the mount. My solution: remove the entire tank and aerobar mounting system, assemble it on my table and then remount the assembled system to my aerobars. This. Takes. Time. Too much time. Again, poor design that a competitor will pick apart the flaws in this system and improve upon.
Cleaning: Ok, ask yourself what's easier to clean - a smooth, rounded interior of a jar or cleaning a multi-faceted surface that would make a hamster get lost? As much as I appreciate an aerodynamic design, this can be and should be greatly improved.
Despite those issues, the bottle works great. Plenty of volume for lots of water for long rides. Water doesn’t splash out through the top rubber gasket, even on bumps. I like that it has a mounting spot for bike computers/cell phones and a clip for the bite valve tube. It came with everything necessary to install it—plastic hinged mounting brackets (which are sturdy and can accommodate a range of aerobar spacing), straw, bite valve, and hardware. Installation takes 5 minutes maybe (not counting that stupid red strap...lol) Good bottle, pretty happy with it.
