"I love the way Alexa Gracewrites. Her stories just get better each time. She clearly, thoroughlyresearches police procedures, and crime scene processing. Her ability toconsistently create vivid scenes, strong, believable characters, and equallyintriguing storyline, is impressive." --Reviewed by Marion Archer for Ravishing Romances - Five Stars No compensation was received for this review. This was an interesting story that was fast paced and never boring. It perfectly filled my need for romance, suspense and mystery. Nothing was ever too predictable and there were plenty of twists and turns along the way. I loved both Carly and Brody who were well fleshed and made an amazing couple. The story was told from many different viewpoints including the killer, the victim, and the other two Chase brothers. My only complaint would be with the the ending which felt rushed and contrived. Overall however, it was an engaging and thrilling read that was emotional and heartbreaking at times, but always intriguing. I can't wait to read Gabe's book next =)
Staged in a small low crime county, Sheriff Brody Chase has never seen anything like the bodies of young teenagers beginning to be uncovered in his peaceful home town. Knowing he's way over his head, he procures the services of ex FBI Agent and current Profiling Consultant, Carly Stone.
Together, they race to save the latest victim while trying to ignore the sizzling chemistry between them.
What I loved about this novel was the well told back stories of Brody and Carly, making the characters come alive!
Then there's the fascinating but disturbing insight into the clever but sick serial killer. I became engrossed in this book, silently praying as Sheriff Brody, Carly and team close in on the killer.
I thought it was well written with nail biting suspense and steamy romance.
I would definitely like to read more from this author.
What I love most about Profile of Evil is the strong characters, especially the heroine, Carly Smith. Carly is an ex-FBI Profiler who Sheriff Brody Chase hires to help stop a serial killer. Carly is strong willed, independent, highly intelligent and take charge woman. She is just what Brody needs in his life. What I also liked was there was no dancing around each other, no playing games. They each know what they want and need and go get it. I also enjoyed the fact that I did not figure out early in the story who the bad guy was.
I really hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.
I'm beginning to be disappointed with what appears to be a common failing in many editors. They don't seem to encourage authors to develop both character AND plot- instead they seem to be satisfied with one or the other. *IF* that had been the case with this book (further development of character & plot simultaneously) Ms. Grace would have easily earned 5 stars from me. Don't misunderstand me, this is well worth the time to read. It is a very good story as it stands. I just feel that the editor could have guided the author into writing a fabulous story. When an author has a storyline as compelling as this was; it deserves the effort and guidance to showcase that brilliance as well.
This is a great suspense story. The view into the killers mind is enough to make you ill. This killer is trolling the internet looking for young women to lear into his grasp. The info on how the killer lears his victims is info every parent should be aware of. Who is your teen really talking to on all of their social media outlets. This book is very up to date and gives good information. A parent needs to know who their teen is communicating with and what information they are giving out. Grace does a great job of showing how these people prey on the young and innocent.
The romance between Brody and Carly is HOT and instantanious. The story focuses more on the mystery then the romance. But it is an enjoyable ride. Looking forward to the next installments in the series.
