I bought wound-up buying several of these supplies after stumbling across the brand while searching Amazon. I hadn't heard of Matrix before but after searching YouTube and considering the asking price for a bench top power supply with lab-grade specs, I pulled the trigger and ordered one to test. I was so impressed, I ordered 5x of the 30V/3A and 2x of the 30V/5A versions. I use them in my design lab for prototyping work and small-scale manufacturing. I have used the supplies a lot and they have worked very well. The noise figures (electronic noise) and accuracy measure great, especially considering the price! You would be hard pressed to find a 20-year old used lab power supply for what you can buy a new power supply with similar and sometimes better specs. You also get a good warranty on paper. I have not had to use the warranty but I have been in contact with Matrix and they have always been prompt in responding to any questions I had. The fan does not constantly but runs above about 50C or so. The fan noise is noticeable but isn't more so than other lab gear. My Tektronix DSO is MUCH louder and its fans run nearly all the time. The manual is well printed on heavy stock paper and spiral bound. It is an above average manual by todays standards but like everything, it could use more detail or a link to a webpage for the more esoteric and rarely used features that aren't covered in great detail.
I really like the build quality of this power supply and the construction is outstanding. The parts quality is well above average and it seems Matrix put thought into the layout and design of their gear. All in all, this is a winner in my book. I felt good enough about their quality and the quality of the company that I bought more than 1/2-dozen for my own lab and production shop.
