Having said all the above, the author heeds to brush up on military organizations and weapons before tackling a sequel.
The Rangers are regular infantry unit with a regular TOE i.e. LT platoon leader, SFC platoon sgt. and staff sgts for squad leaders. the wacky organization that was set up in this book was more along the lines of the Army Delta Force or the Navy Seals.
Oh yeah....the German MG42(Hitlers buzz saw) was 7.59mmX 57mm. The designation is by the size of the round not the length of the round, and there were no Gatling guns in WWII.
I did find myself confused on occasion, but further reading clarified matters. How can this team foil the Nazi's plan and return to 2015? Will their actions in 1945 impact the future? You'll have to read the story and find out. The ending was a big surprise for me and allowed me to close the book with a smile on my face. Great job, Mr. Davies!
As a side note, the book is missing words in the sentences throughout the book. I don't know if it is due to a formatting error or not. They are distracting and should be corrected.
John Podlaski, author of "Cherries - A Vietnam War Novel" and "When Can I Stop Running?"
Again...the bottom line outcome of the book is different and interesting, but the poor writing and poor dialog took almost everything away from the enjoyment. I do not recommend this book. Actually, maybe if you read the last two or three chapters first and than started from the beginning it would be better, but I doubt it.
