My set came with a soundtrack CD and a small booklet containing game art. The booklet was simple and contained mostly the cover images, not earthshakingly awesome but nice.
If you are deciding between the limited edition or just downloading the game, here's what in the limited edition:
-Art book: Major disappointment compared to the Japanese version. The localized version has a picture of major characters...that's it. The Japanese version has pictures, screenshots and text that probably tells you who the character is. Lazy part on the localization team.
-Soundtrack: Contains 25 songs that is about 50 mins long. I can't compare this to the Japanese version since I don't know what that version has but there are some songs that should have been on the disk like "Fury Sparks" from Tales of Vesperia or X's theme and Zero's theme.
-Mini Poster: Basically just... I don't know, something you would seen on an advertisement.
With that out of the way...
Gameplay: It's a very basic SRPG at first and you can mash A to beat enemies, but the game rewards you for learning the battle system. The more you play, the deeper the strategy gets. You have to position units to get ideal support attacks to extend your combos and gain past 100 XP. Once you grasp the depths of how to extend your combos in combat, you have to balance your use of XP for skills and supers, not only that, but your solo units are all different and choosing which unit to tag them with is harder than it seems. Solo units add unique skills that can make your pair unit versatile but you have to balance it between useful skills and how the solo unit's attack will help extend your combos. The game's major problem is balance. You start with a basic team...then a squad, then 2...then a frickin' platoon. The only way the enemies keep up with the insane army you have is to send more enemies (like a horde) and give them larger amounts of health. You will only find that using skills and items to be super important near the end game where enemies will swarm you and using items alone will not suffice. Truth be told, I didn't mind it that much. The game's combat system is enjoyable and achieving 100+ combos are always fun.
Music: Holy cow. The selection of music in this game is outstanding. Hearing X's and Zero's themes are a blast. Having "Devils Never Cry" blaring while your units plow through enemies feels so awesome. Heck, I'm glad they brought even brought Sakura Taisen themes. No complaint there.
Story: Uh...This is like a Saturday morning cartoon. Or more closely, a fan fiction. It feels like the three companies chose characters they wanted, created Kogoro Tenzai and Mii Koryuji, some villains and gave it to a writer to make a plot out of all that. The story will not blow your mind but the writers really shine when it comes to the characters' interactions among each other and they can be down right hilarious. Heck, the best parts have to be when Ogami-san gets affection points from non Sakura Taisen characters. So, don't take the story seriously, it's just a laid back fun romp through worlds with funny character interactions.
Graphics(?): This is very subjective as some like sprite based works and others don't. I love the sprite based designed. Heck, the 2D versions of many of these characters is gorgeous. It's very nostalgic to see stages from other games created for use here. Again, it's a love it or hate it thing.
Summary: Funny character interaction, basic SRPG but fun combat system, awesome music, amazing sprite work, game can be too easy till near the end. I'd recommend this to fans of SRPGs and fighters but also for people just looking to relax.
The combat is extremely fun and well created. On the map, you have a number of things to consider in the positioning of your characters and what skills to use, and in combat it feels fighting game-esque, with figuring out the best combos, timing, and order of attacks.
I highly recommend this game to anyone that likes strategy RPGs (tactics games) and/or people that enjoy crossover games.
