This book is just gleamed blog posts off of the Instructables.com web site. They tell you that right in the introduction to the book. The different entries were not broken down on how to actually do them, more of a review of a project. Some even told you to google it online to get more information. Not a very helpful book at all.

this is a joke. only one of the projects is within the abilities of most of us amatures and that one is way too expensive. off the grid should be simple, practical and CHEAP!!

Interesting and useful book for anyone who wants to be more self sufficient, but doesn't actually have much to say about going off grid.

i find that all the instructions are very involved- very! And it relies on your having some sort of stock pile of wires, lumber, motors etc, plus knowing how to solder. My expectations were that the instructions would be much more basic for the average person, not a full blown professional handyman.

Ordered this to add to our collection of homesteading/self sufficiency books. Nice cover on it and there are some good plans in it for solar projects and also for a wind generator. Look forward to trying these out. Very pleased.

It had projects to make your own biofuel but didn't give you any ideas what you can do with it.

A really good book. The projects are simple and easy to follow. The projects for the most part used common, easy to find materials
