These EC5 connectors are exactly what I needed to build a couple of charge cables. I need to go from the EC5 to XT60 using 12ga wire. These were perfect.

These work great. I removed the plug I didn't want on my battery pack, slid the blue plastic sleeve over the wires, made the solder connections on the brass pins, let them cool, and popped them in place using a pair of channel locks. Channel lock jaws are slightly offset when opened and you can catch the edge of the blue plug on the backside and use an extra un-soldered brass pin on the one you are pressing into the blue sleeve. Once you hear it pop in place just carefully pull the un-soldered pin out and repeat on the other wire. Keep everything separated to prevent arcing while doing your work!

These connectors are well made and connect well to my jump-started battery pack. You'll need to figure out how to get the pins to latch into the sheath, which requires using something to push them into the sheath a little farther than the sheath rim. That's not hard once you've figured it out. I put the connector upside down on a vice and gently hammer a metal rod inserted into the connector pin.

As others observed, the plastic part is too small to allow the metal parts to be installed. It is not really even that close, interference starts with female connector the instant it arrives at the plastic housing. And if you ream out the plastic housing enough to allow it to be used, you still end up with plastic on the end of the female connector once installed that has been sheared off by the connector.
