What I did get is a deep net that holds its shape very well and is very easy to use. The rope is at least 30 feet long. I am happy with the length but the rope is thin and IS nylon and has all the bad attributes of a nylon rope (stiff, rough , abrasive) which is why I gave it 4 stars. The steel rim has indentations which hold the lift ropes in place equally spaced so it lifts straight ( a lot of them don't). The float on the rope above the net is very useful because you can tell where the net is after you lower it below the surface (it is surprisingly useful and not common).
I am using this as a landing net for fish off of bridges and piers. It has worked very well for large fish over 15 inches long. I think the holes would allow fish smaller than 12 inches to slip through. If the rope were a newer softer style nylon rope and a little larger I would be thrilled with this net and give it 7 stars. As it is fellow anglers ask me where I got it and it is much better than most I have seen.
The three smaller ropes connecting the large metal ring to the main rope are held in place on the ring by 3 curved indents made in the ring. They are just bent into the ring so the knots can slide around. If they were loops it would be perfect. The main rope passes through the first float, with two knots made before and after the float to keep it in place. The knots are smaller than the hole in the float so it will slip over the knots. Fix this before you go fishing.
The net overall isn't heavy so get some weights to keep it in place if the current is strong.
Im not a bulls***ter, and I will update this accordingly if they fail me in any way, but as of right now I cant imagine finding a btter product out there for 22 bucks.
Tight lines, boys...
I have used it 4-5 times and it seems to be something that will last a long time for my purpose and use. I really liked that it came with a rope.
