There is an age difference between them that is a roadblock for Faye but as time goes by Gil begins to fall for Faye and with time and some ups and downs Faye decides to just enjoy life and see where things go. This was a very enjoyable read I liked the character development and how the story flowed until the last page. I look forward to reading more of Jane Leopold Quinn's books.
As for the story, a very tasty treat indeed. Ms Quinn paints a detailed portrait of a woman re-awakening after the loss of her husband. Her emotional state is handled quite deftly. This story has pathos, passion and humor woven together. Gil and Faye's story unfolds quickly and it's a scorcher. Each is grieving and on the rebound from a great loss. Faye having lost her husband and Gil, his life's work. They're both starting over and their meeting is the beginning of the healing each so desperately needs.
I heartily recommend this tantalizing short story. I promise you won't be disappointed.
When Gil Farrelly casually said mornin as he was on his morning beach run, Faye had no idea her life was about to change. Gil wanted to paint Faye, and he didn't understand her frosty attitude towards him. He had never had trouble attracting women, but he was looking forward to the challenge.
Good short story! Faye and Gil have very hot chemistry, and their story is heartwarming. I was surprised at the character development in such a short offering. Faye had suffered such a huge loss, and we were drawn in along on her new path in life.
