The Promise was super bitter sweet tearjerker. I was blind sided and took me completely by surprise. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am an extremely sensitive person that cried for anything and everything. So I definitely cried so much.
I can't say much without giving the plot away, but reason why I didn't give the book a full five star rating is because I didn't really feel the love connection between the hero and heroine. I felt as though I didn't get to know Theo much and after getting to 50% I had to do a little bit of skipping because I kind of knew where it was heading. But other than that, this book was so well written that I could picture everything described in the book so well. I felt as though I was watching a movie in between the lines. It was incredible, Melody Grace definitely has a unique and wonderful writing style.
"Promise me you'll live. Every day, the way I wanted. Don't ever waste it, not one single breath."
I don't normally don't read this type of book but I'm so happy that I did. This is a wonderful story of love, finding life & moving on after loss. This story is told beautifully. Also it's about how one person can impact so many lives. Ugh! That being said, I'm pretty sure I'm dehydrated from the amount of tears I shed. You will definitely need a box of tissues or a towel (since tissues weren't cutting it for me).
I would recommend reading this book. I've read many of Melody Grace's books and this was by far the best one so far.
I don't want to give away anything but I want to plead for one thing: Theo a book ....... PLEASE!!!!! We need it after ripping our hearts out. I'm still trying to piece mine back together.
Thank you for giving us this beautiful story. 💜💜
I started this book thinking it was one thing and learned it was about living life to the fullest despite the odds stacked against you. Claire was a strong fearless woman who lived her life by making everyday count.
This is a book that makes you think twice about life and how you live it. I'm warning people now this book will gut you and make you feel emotions across the board. I'd give it more stars if I could. Definitely a book worth reading. I ABSOLUTELY loved it.
