Where are these 4 and 5 star reviews coming from?
I couldn't get past the first chapter before scrolling through so much of the book to find the same thing....simple conversations between characters, nothing more than a simple dialog. To be honest, I have more interesting text messages.
Sorry for a negative review but thankfully it was a free download

The plot was very simple and obvious, and the novel had no characterization. Had Mr. Locke stuck with the plot, the story may have been bearable, but the lesbian scenes were irrelevant and boring. I started skimming after the third chapter and didn't feel like I missed much.

The plot was ridiculous. No suspense and no logic to any of the story. Trashy, commercial and very poorly written.

Skip this book!! Not only did it flip from point to point without explaining key elements to the story, but it was centered around using underage sexual assault and molestation along with other forms of underage consensual and non consensual sex to blackmail and scene into what the main character wanted. I'm sorry that I wasted my time on this book, and while I try and only write positive reviews I found nothing positive for this book.

If you are looking for a story that is non descriptive, uses short choppy sentences, and is centered around using sexual assault to profit then this is a good book for you. If you don't like those things then I would not recommend Promise You Won't Tell?

How on earth could Mr. Locke be a NY Times best selling author? This novella, and l use the term loosely, is filled with a ridiculous amount of crude language and gratuitous male titillation at the expense of one of the main female characters. Under the guise of a strong female lead, he fills this book with absurd stereotypes and extremely poor character development. This author should restrain his adolescent male fantasies concerning women and concentrate on a more realistic view of empowered women! That this book was free doesn't make it any more palatable.

It so often seems that all good authors eventually get sidetracked once acheiving some success. Mr. Locke is no exception as evidenced by his latest effort. Gratuitous violence, incredible scenarios and unbelievable characters and a ridiculous ending are just some of its downfalls. Judging by the other reviews I'm not alone in my critique. Mr. Locke, why don't you stick with Donovan Creed? Plenty of sex, violence and craziness there already.

To be brief this book was just ok. Not at all what I expect from John Locke. I found the plot slow and the twist at the end predictable.

I have never read anything by this author before and decided to read this after seeing the good reviews from other readers. I had gotten no farther than 1/4 through this book when I began to wonder if I was reading the same book as others. The style of writing seemed lacking to me. It lacked heart and feeling to it. While I thought the case itself was interesting, I think the problem with the story is the protagonist, Dani. I never felt as I knew her or what her motivations were and she acted like a child with how she dealt with adults. Not to mention how she acted when she "interviewed" a teenage boy. The character fell apart, which to me seemed completely random and I was left wondering what the hell is going on with her. Overall, I was disappointed and I'm not sure if I want to read anything else that John Locke has written.
