My husband's hard-to-fit wide foot finds this hiking boot to be comfortable and supportive during and after several all-day hikes on rough, rocky trails. Works well for his high arches, long toes and wide feet. Supportive without being hard to break in, plus they look good for casual winter use. Minor point: the Velcro side closing wore out after the first few days so he cut them off. The size zipper is still helpful so you don't have to re-tie laces each time they go on and off. Overall, he is very happy with the boots (though they're not heavily built, so may not last many years)for hard-to-fit feet.
True to size: I'm tall and thin, wear a shoe size 14-wide, so I was a little apprehensive about buying shoes online. I read one review that said these shoes run true in their size and to my relief they very much did.
Room for additional insole: Not only can you remove the insole that comes with the shoe but because it is a boot there is a great deal of room so I was able to put a nicer Dr Scholls gel cushion on top making the shoe very comfortable.
Solid Build: Rugged, good build, does not seem cheap in any way.
Moderate Price: Decent price, nothing too outlandish. Mine cost more than the average because of my size +shipping +tax in CA. But again not bad.
Great Looking: I got the Denim Blue/Pewter Black and they look fantastic indoors or outdoors.
Side Zipper/Velcro: I consider this a weakness to this shoe and really don't care for the feature. The zipper is typical of your average jeans zipper so it has moderate strength. The velcro however is pretty thin and does not look like it is up to the task of constant use. Either way I just won't use the feature so it is what it is.
Average Shoe: This really is an average shoe. Nothing fancy at all. I own a pair of Rugged Outback Boots from Payless Shoe Stores that costs $40 and the build quality is just as good and I have worn the Payless Boots in work/winter for almost 3 years now. The Propet's have a lighter sole but overall quality is very similar.
Shock Absorption Sole: LoL, NO! It's just a sole. It doesn't absorb anything and I mean that. I go off trail frequently and could feel every rock no matter how little, every shock, everything. It is a standard man made rubber sole.Read more ›
These Boots (shoes) are the exception! The first day I put them on, I walked over 8 miles on the local walking trail, and I had no blisters or sore spots. Now, as they are broke in, they feel even better.....
Great for people with flat feet too, as I have very flat feet and severe fallen arches with lots of foot pain. These make my walking 100% more enjoyable.
The stitching along the rubber on the toe part tore as I was kneeling, on both sides it's about a three quarters inch where seam came loose. And after 11 months the tread is worn down to almost a hole.
They were great shoes for the first couple months, and I do quite a bit of walking so the wear is about normal. But other issues started to add up and while it was great initially, less than a year later and I'm going to have to look for a new pair of shoes.

I'm a size 13 with a very high arch and these shoes are an excellent choice.
Good fit and very comfortable.
At first the Propet Summit Walkers felt a little tight. However the breakin was the first 80 feet of walking. So far so good, very comfortable and true to fit. Read morePublished on May 26, 2013 by chueychuey

The sizing on this Propet is not a 5E. It is narrow and painful. I can't comment on the quality of the shoe but the fit is wrong and I sent them back.Published on July 25, 2012 by Spidey
