Editorial Reviews

Review

The trilogy is a highly enjoyable series of books to read. If you were looking for comparisons in style and substance then the late Professor Tolkien and the wonderful Robin Hobb would come close. Indeed, The Lord of the Rings by Tolkien was responsible for awakening David Burrows' interest in fantasy and this in turn led to the author attempting to create a story featuring bold characters and intriguing plot. This aim has certainly been achieved. Fantasybookreview.co.uk

About the Author

My family lived near Blackpool which was great for summer jobs, calling bingo and working on the Pleasure Beach. From there I went to Liverpool University where I was introduced to the delights of this truly great city. I spent some time rowing on Knowsley lake, right opposite a safari park. As you rowed you were treated to the delights of giraffe and zebra strolling by the lake side, it was just like being in Africa! I never did find out if there were crocodiles in the lake. Next I was off to Edinburgh where I enrolled in the TA as an infantry Captain, spending many a happy weekend on a mountain top, freezing in ice and snow! I have now moved south to a much gentler climate in Kent. I have also handed over my claymore and rifle to take up the sword, shield and spear of an Anglo-Saxon re-enactor, in Regia Anglorum.
