I spent 6 years in the army, i know a thing or two about the bdu.
The stitching is well done, the blended fabric is durable, retains color better and is more wrinkle resistant than a pure cotton.
The Propper products are true to size. By that i mean the size you order would be the size uncle sam would issue you.
I've several pair of the domestic and imported bdu pants from propper and tru spec. The only real difference in material, workmanship and durability is the five dollars retail.
I have pairs of the imports that are 3 years old and show no sign of giving up the ghost. These are good comfortable durable pants.
The construction seems good. The fabric seems thin for twill, but I haven't worn twill BDU's in 10 years so my memory may be failing me.
Additional note: It has been 4 months of wearing these both pairs interchangeably with regular washings. They both look to be in the same shape as before. I have noticed on both pairs the cuffs by the ankle have dragged on the ground at some point and have become scraped up and threaded. I do not use the ties on the cuffs and removed the ties early on. The scrapes seem more so on the TRU-SPECs and that would be expected since they are looser. I am also not using boots with either of these so that more than likely is the reason.
8 month update: So far so good still. Both are holding up well and I used them everyday. 3 things that I noticed. 1: the top button of the TRU-SPECs popped off about 2 months ago. I could resew it but have been lazy and just tighten my belt over it. 2: Both pairs have side cinches that will tighten the pant's waist in place of or in assistance with a belt. The Tru-Specs hold in place but the Proppers uncinch if I squat. Speaking of squatting, 3: the other day I was doing yard work and it wasn't bad when I began but became humid as the day progressed.Read more ›
After putting on these pants I noticed a few immediate improvements. My beard got thicker and darker, it was like a cross between a taliban warlord and a Jew fro, when other men at shooting classes see the beard they immediately Beta out and subordinate to my commands. Also my girlfriend lost about 12 pounds, and her cup size went from a 'B' to a 'C'. She started following me around only wearing cut off shorts and a bikini top, the power of the pants compelled and her, and also displayed my man parts so graciously.
I immediately tried these pants out by putting them on and going out to the backyard to do tactical rolls through the grass. It's no surprise the pants did their job as they should, no tears, no rips, and there was plenty of room to store all my accessories.
If you're going to be a true tactical operator, get these pants...
