The belt loops are 2" wide and work nicely with my nylon Propper belt. There is a metal D ring above the right front pocket which I use to hold my flash light lanyard. There is a small coin pocket inside the right front pocket.
The rear pockets are huge! They are 9 inches deep and 6 inches wide with a velcro tab to keep them closed. There is also a wallet pocket within the back pockets, a nice feature.
The fabric is 60% 35% Poly Cotton 8.5 oz. The zipper is YKK metal with a metal snap closure. The waist has internal elastic which I love. Based on my experience with other Propper products, i know I will be happy with these shorts. Propper pricing is also very competitive.
I have a 36" waist, and while the pants are great, these were WAY too tight. The pockets are smaller, and the length is....lacking. I'm 6'4", and these came down about half way to my knees. Also, the overall cut is a lot tighter than the pants. I have massive thighs, and while the pants are nice and loose, these shorts pinch right below the waist.
Not exactly what I was expecting, given the exceptional quality of the pants.
Hard to beat at this price, I wear them anytime I'm not at work. I would love it if propper produced a version of these with a gusseted crotch.
I then ordered this pair in Khaki...same design & fabric, just another color.
Unfortunately, this pair has a few problems...puckered stitching on both leg hems, and the left cargo pocket was sewn on crooked.
It's not a 'functional' issue, just looks a bit goofy if you look at it a bit, and a minor irritation to me because it could/should have been done right!
I'm about to receive a third pair in Navy, so I'll find out whether this is an isolated thing or routine...I hope it was a one time deal!
Unfortunately, one of the two pairs I bought had a manufacturing defect. The main snap fell apart yesterday (the first day I wore them; just took the tags off!). I contacted Propper via their website (should have a response in 2-3 business days), and I will update this review with my customer service experience.
They hold up well; I haven't worn a pair out yet; some with over 3 years of wear. The Teflon Coating does wash off letting the pants pick up stains and water penetration easier as they get older.
I prefer the rear pocket within a pocket over the 5.11's but do prefer the knife pocket location on the 5.11's over the Propper. I carry a firearm on the right side which makes it quite difficult to access the knife pocket which is within the right pocket.
While having gusseted cargo pockets they do lie quite flat allowing a business casual look while still maintaining a tactical capability.
These pants also off the internal knee pad pocket; which can add a great benefit and level of comfort it you could be kneeling often. The 5.11 Knee pads do fit and function quite well in the Propper pants.

Great quality. They do run a little small so we sized 2 sizes up, could have only sized up 1 size but my husband likes the length. Will buy again.Published 6 days ago by Alexandria Knoll
Pockets are way too small to use for anything. These shorts seemed very cheap and poorly made.Published 6 days ago by r14

I love these shorts. They are rugged and I like the pocket Velcro closures much better than buttons. I own three pair of shorts and two long pants of this type.Published 16 days ago by Krieger Conradt
My 6th pair over two years and definitely superior to the 5-11 brand in fit and function. Order one waist size larger for the shorts, versus trousers.Published 17 days ago by James Black
