RC hobbyist here. Worked first time even though I haven't used this type of crimper before. The handle is very long but it doesn't look like it on the picture. In the 2 weeks that I've had it I've used maybe 2 dozen 45A and 1 dozen 30A with no problem. Does different guage wires no problem also.

Don't do Anderson with out it

Love Anderson power pole but trying to crimp them with traditional crimpers was a pain. These make the process much better, and there is no guessing if the crimp is good or not with the ratchet if it releases you have a good crimp, if not keep on squeezing.

I like the long handle that gives enough leverage

I'm currently using this to crimp anderson powerpole 30A connectors. I use the center slot labelled "30", and this crimper creates strong crimps. I like the long handle that gives enough leverage, much more than the cheap $5 crimper from the local hardware store. Everything functions as it should, and I'm happy with the purchase. Although I cannot compare this to the expensive $200+ crimpers, I feel that there is not much room for improvement over this one. The action is smooth, everything clicks when it is supposed to click, and the materials feel sturdy. Perhaps different colored paint for visibility would be an improvement.

Great for PP crimping.

Works like a champ. The bottom guide makes PP crimping a breeze. I was really surprised how quickly it went once I got the hang of it. Much better than solder or crimping with pliers. Makes using PowerPoles so easy I'll have to order another bag of connectors soon.

Only gripe is that I wish the bolt on the bottom die was easier to remove. Top one is a nice thumb-screw. Bottom has a phillips-head screw with a lock-nut and requires a two tools to (screwdriver and something to keep the nut from spinning) to remove. I use the crimper with a different die set (Open Barrel Contacts AWG 30-24 and 22-18) for crimping RC Airplane servo connectors and switching dies back and forth is more trouble than it should be because of the bottom screw.

Excellent crimping tool! I've been using it for several months now and it just plain works. Very heavy duty, very easy to use. Just slip the connector into the proper channel in the tool, slip your pre-stripped wire into the Powerpole connector, and squeeze. If you want an ultra secure connection, you can take the added step of soldering it as well, but I've never seen any need to. It makes installing powerpole connectors extremely fast and easy.

I loved it once you tighten down the crimp holder on the outside. Mine just spun around making life a bit harder, till I grabbed a pair of needle nose and tightened that up. For the price, its awesome and I'm happy to do a little maintenance to pay this little.

I would recommend this tool

Works as advertised. Did several of the 30Amp connectors. Used it to attach a solar panel to a 12 volt battery for charging. Working well so far. I would recommend this tool.Read more

Good crimper, badly machined recesses in block.

Crimps well but the block that the tung of the powerpole contact goes into bends the contact when you crimp. I had to remove it.
