Then, I decided to inflate the ball in hopes that would help with the slickness. But, when I inserted the air pump needle into the balls' air valve there was a loud "POP!!!" and a fine puff of sand or silicone was ejected from it. Apparently, I had punctured whatever bladder was containing the sand. Deflated and useless the ball now awaits my next garbage collection day. There will be no farewell ceremonies for this ball.
I have slammed the larger one a few hundred times so far, on concrete and blacktop. Ball doesn't show signs of wear or ripping or tearing. I'm pleased. Would buy again.
I was looking for equipment and I remember using a slam ball, so I went to look at amazon for slam balls. This was the one that I have chosen since it's on the cheaper side. I know $40 isn't cheap, but some of the slam balls are a little too ridiculous when it comes to the pricing. So I got this one instead.
I've been using this for three months now. I would do push-ups or the rollover push up (where you would roll the ball to one hand then do a push up) and the wall balls in the garage. I'm surprised that for the price of this ball it hasn't busted yet, I weight roughly 200 lbs.
I added a picture to show the size of it in my hands (Note: I have ginormous hands) and to show the treads on the ball (it's not deep threads)
In conclusion, I love this slam ball because it's cheap and durable. I did remove a star because like what the other guy has said the insides shift a little bit, but it hasn't really bothered me that much.
I think given how the material shifts during the moves I will have to go slower in the movement. The final point although minor, the large diameter does not make gripping this easier than the prior ball I had. The prior ball did not have the ribbing however it was very easy to grip. This diameter is not as easy.
This product is worth the purchase. Don't buy unless your committed to working out. I recommend doing it with friends since tossing a ball could get boring quick if working out alone.
