Sebastian is recently out of the service and suffering from the loss of a comrade and friend. As the book opens he's reflecting on the past, on a love that he had and lost and just like fate is known to do, that lost love enters his life once more.
Ali is working as an assistant event planner, something she never wanted, but thanks to the greed of the Maxwell family, this is her life now. She wants and needs to prove that they underhandedly cheated her father and her family. The only thing that stands in her way is Sebastian himself.
There is a special writing skill between these authors that makes this series so damn good! The story isn't typical, the outcome is so original and it left me feeling so good about the book, even good about Sebastian's family and there really isn't much good about them.
Sebastian is a man of honor and wants what is right but he also loves his family, despite there not deserving it. Ali loves her family as well and she wants things corrected as well as showing the world how corrupt his family as well as his partner really are.
I really hated Sebastian's father, I still dislike him in a lot of ways but he really did Sebastian and Ali a favor. The time apart led to Sebastian going into the marines, where I believe he really grew up and got his character. Throughout the book I sensed his biggest fear was ending up like them, I believe he would have had he not gotten away and gained the strength to stand up for himself. And Ali...she had to go through all of this to be the person she was now and those two people can stand the test of time when things get tough.
I loved this book, love the series and am left anxiously waiting to read the next one. I highly recommend it!
Wow! Samantha Chase and Noelle Adams have really done it again. What a powerful team they make.
In Protecting The Enemy we get to read Sebastian's story. We meet Ali. Ali and Sebastian have a history that is not good. Their history is one of heartbreak and full of bitterness. Sebastian wants to do right by it. Ali is strong and untrusting due to the pain and betrayals of the past. When Ali and Sebastian come together things heat up. You get some drama and danger and even twists and turns.
I loved this story. I loved alot of moments but I really loved how it was also about redemption all around. I loved how realistic the struggles were. I cried and my heart swooned. I loved every aspect of this story. This is definitely a great read.
Samantha Chase really can write. Noelle Adams is an amazing writer also. This book has all the elements that I find appealing in a book. This is a must read book. I highly recommend this book. I give it 5 stars and 2 thumbs up. If you want a romance book with romance and drama and characters with history then this is your book.
Sebastian and Ali have a history and have not seen each other since Sebastian had no other choice but to tell her they were over. Fast forward twelve years, his security firm is working the same party that the company Ali works for is putting together. Will they be able to overcome their past?
A great addition to The Protectors series. Noelle Adams and Samantha Chase create their own chemistry when they come together to write. In this series a little bit of romance, a bit of second chances, a bit of suspense, and some humor have all been part of the first two books. Can't wait to get my hands on the next book.
Loved this story of second chance romance and not giving up. Loved the revised version of this story. The second book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. Love this dynamic writing duo od Samantha and Noelle.
